WheelsDirect Experience

So I ordered Forged Specialties Wheels from Chris with a eta of 3 mnths for delivery. No problem as these are being shipped from over seas. I received the wheels and there was some issues with the finish .. Called Chris and he said he would take care of it and I sent them back . He paid for the shipping . Received them today and OMFG.. They are worse than before .. I am so disappointed in this whole experience . I have put nothing but Volks on my cars for the past 8 yrs without one single issue . Forged Specialties nothing but issues.. Chris looked at these before they shipped . They are filthy . They were packaged horribly so there would be NO or minimize shipping damage and the pics speak for themselves... Uploading now ..:shakes head::shakes head::gtfo2:

Man that looks horrible. Good luck on getting the issue resolved.

metz 03-15-2011 01:02 AM

I hope they fix this for you

They were drug over concrete. Its so obvious that NO care was taken in regards to these wheels ...

Chris_1 03-15-2011 01:10 AM

Like I told Blaine, The chips in the chrome were NOT there, and the gash in the barrels were NOT there. The paint, I assume your taking a pic of the rear of the wheel. I mean that is really honestly the only thing I can see where you ups didnt have a hand in.

I have been in contact with you from day one, sometimes and even today it is not 2 a.m. and I am STILL trying to resolve it with you. I never left you hanging, and I looked out for you. You obviously have something against me, so I guess I will have the owner of Forged Specialties contact you tomm. and the finisher to see what their going to do. They will most likely swap out the damaged wheels in for new ones, but lets see what they say.

Let me know which ones were damaged, 2 or 3?

Chris I have Nothing against you .... Honestly this is a drag.. What is there to resolve ?? The wheels arrived Filthy . If they were shipped and packaged nicely there would be no barrel damage. There are so many scratches and nicks in the chrome. Also the new finish is one of the front wheels . I havent unboxed the rears yet ...

CrownR426 03-15-2011 03:26 AM

Update us bro!
Gotta see which vendors live up to the expectations!
Not too satisified with the ones I've heard of so far on the site.

370zFORme!! 03-15-2011 03:56 AM

This is horrible. Having ordered from wheels direct myself, Chris was very informative and helpful. My wheels arrived perfect. If they looked anything like these I would a) want my money back or b)want all wheels replaced. If they were damaged via shipping, was there insurance on them? If shipping wasnt the issue, then there is no excuse for no quality control, especially if you were already unhappy with the first set. If two wheels arrived like this, it is likely the the other two were damaged in shipping as well. I hope this issue gets resolved.

Chris_1 03-15-2011 10:25 AM

I am going to hand it over to the owner of Forged Specialties, b/c I have done all I can and then I still somehow get talked about on these forums like I made a mistake. The wheels were definitely damaged in shipping, b/c I saw them myself before they left.

The only thing I see is MAYBE the rear of the spokes(you dont see that) but w/e it is understandable and once someone talks bad about you, not much more you can do. Everyone knows me here, and I have never had a problem including Forged Specialties. Lets be real here guys, we shipped them once for about $140.00 in a hurry b/c the customer called and wanted them, then their was a problem so its another $140.00 back, then fixed them for another $140.00 back to the customer. Why would we spend over $400.00 and then want to spend another $140.00 to pick them up b/c we sent them out damaged for fun? I dont want to fight about this, just dont think this needed to be on a forum, considering the fact I have been up at 2am at times talking to the customer, but under the bus I go. I am going to continue on the situation and fix it.

soooo UPS is fuggin' em up? im lost.

370Z JT 03-15-2011 11:03 AM

From what ive read,Chris admits it damaged due to poor packaging the first time. Second time, it's unclear.

I'm lost too.. This is not ups . Did they open the wheels and scratch the chrome? Did they open the wheels and drag them across the concrete? Did they open the wheels and leave a god awful spray on the finish? Did they open the wheels try to fix the finish and fail? Did they package the wheels horribly so they can be damaged during shipping? Seriously a ups issue??

The first time was not due to packaging. It was a finish issue..

NeverBoneStck 03-15-2011 11:09 AM

Remember Chris I am not throwing u under the bus. This has to do with forged specialties and they should of ate the shipping . Not you. U act like u r forged specialties.

Chris_1 03-15-2011 11:18 AM

I am not going to argue back and forth and you are convinced since you had someone talk bad about the company that you didnt want the wheels. Why would we drag wheels across the floor?
And honestly by your comments, sure sounds like your throwing me under the bus contradicting everything I am saying. You want to stick to what you believe happened, so frankly what can I do about that. LIke I told you on the phone at 2 AM, yes guys 2 am I answered my phone to address the issue. The owner will contact you and resolve it, he never left anyone hanging from what ive seen so I am sure he will get it done.

This I am sorry, is not a public issue, and if you wanted it resolved this is the wrong way to go about it. I have been helping you as well as the company, problems have happened and you go on a forum and bash me? I doubt I will post anymore in this thread, b/c this is a private issue that we can either fix or we can talk about it on these forums and look at the damaged wheels.

RCZ 03-15-2011 11:24 AM

And this is how companies get a bad rep. So first its bad finish and then poor packaging that I assume was done at Forged Specialties. I understand why Chris is upset, its not necessarily his fault, but I'm sure he's getting some heat because he is the one pushing this product in the end. They look bad and he looks bad for selling them.

What's with the trend of wheel startups that turn to shitty quality?

BTW....are those nuts and bolts holding your wheels together??

Chris_1 03-15-2011 11:33 AM

Rcz, honestly I am just upset that all this does is make a company look bad. I mean its not like I ignored you. The quality on the wheels is great, ask jeff per say, or zzz370. If their is an issue I understand it, but its an issue between the company and the customer, not the world.

Instead of trying to fix this now, I have to continually come on here and defend myself and the company b/c an issue occurs. Their are lots of wheel companies out there that have had issues, but they were resolved with the customer and I hope never taken lightly. I am a firm believer that problems can occur, but as long as they are resolved thats what matters.

If the problem is with Forged Specialties, rather than with WheelsDirect, then can you change the thread title to "Forged Specialties Experience"?

I would but the contact for f/s is Chris at wheelsdirect. Everything goes through Chris at wheels direct in regards to f/s.

Big J 03-15-2011 12:38 PM

Were the rims shipped from Wheelsdirect, and damaged between leaving wheelsdirect and arriving at the customer? If so, I would think wheelsdirect should make this situation right and make the claim with the shipping company's insurance.

I will NEVER do that, I sold the product and its my responsibility. Its just not how it works, you sell a product and you stand behind it. I truly believe that the company took the steps to fix it, and no one dragged a wheel across the floor.

I saw the wheels myself before they left and they were not damaged. Honestly, the only thing I see here that doesnt make sense is that tiny scratch on the rear of the wheel.

Does this wheel look like it was dragged across the floor? THis is his wheel before leaving with perfect chrome lip?

whoLEEoh 03-15-2011 01:10 PM

usually people put up a thread like this when they were in some way screwed over...they are fixing the issue for u..u complain about this and that and they continue to help you and put up with it...this is a personal matter and this is an attention thread..

Chris_1 03-15-2011 01:30 PM

Their will be no he said, she said, this will be resolved and Blaine will be happy. I dont do this to screw people over. I have always talked to Blaine, and this problem will be resolved and hopefully people understand that these are growing pains, but at least their sticking to it and I am working with them to resolve it. Blaine message me with the wheels that need to have new lips, so I can file with ups for the claims and get this resolved.

You don't have proof of this.

Something doesn't add up. However, this issue should have never made a public forum, especially if the company is still working with you to try and fix the issue at hand. If they left you out to dry and Chris flamed you, then fine, but this is clearly not the case.

ibtl!

If it was UPS I believe it. They suck!!!!! I've ordered lots of part in the last few months and every(luckily very few) UPS box came beat to hell. Every FedEx box.... Perfect!! I've notice that with UPS that our packages makes about half a dozen stops or more. Thus causing it to go threw many abusive non caring workers. With FedEx they never make stops. Always seems to be a straight shot.

That damage has got to have happened outside of the box. Whether on the shipping end, or the receiving end, we can't say for sure.
