Chris I have faith that this issue will get resolved. Like I said you were more than great to deal with when I purchased my wheels. Good luck to all parties involved.

Nitrouz 03-15-2011 06:57 PM

every company has their issues. If it's perfect everytime, those are the ones you need to be careful of as they are powerful enough to sweep things under the rug.

Sounds like Chris is doing everything he can. Too bad this has to be the transaction with you OP. But now you have the opportunity to enjoy your wheels that much more when it comes back to you in perfect condition.

See... I never understood this. Fed Ex claims you have to sign for anything worth over $500. Everything I order is over $500. But no one is ever here and they still leave it. Thank God.

this is my theory. Most people ship through a fedex kinko's or UPS store. I think fedex has a policy of having their employees put adult signature required on every shipment they can, because they charge a dollar or two more. I always tell my customers to not require a signature, and they tell me after fedex didn't deliver that they specified no signature required, yet they still do.

Plus, what is the deal with having a Fedex driver, Fedex ground driver and Fedex home delivery driver?

For the most part, my ground and home drivers are awesome and know to just scribble my name on the slip and leave it, but when I get the odd fill in driver, it sucks.

For the guy complaining about the post office, you can also fill out a form that will allow your carrier to leave your packages. My carrier told me about it, but they couldn't find the form, so I just wrote a letter to my postmaster authorizing the carrier to sign for me, and now I never miss a USPS deliver.

As for my UPS drivers, I have about 3 or 4 of them, because my place is kind of between routes, but they all take very good care of me. Probably because they work directly for UPS and not independent contractors like Fedex, and I do all my shipping through UPS.

phunk 03-15-2011 09:50 PM

its rediculous to hate on fedex because they require a signature... at least the stuff arrives and in good shape. UPS loses packages and damages everything... ill deal with the signature.

and on that note... its the SHIPPER who specifies signature delivery or not, it has nothing to do with FedEx.

As someone who ships expensive parts via FedEx a few times a day, i ALWAYS activate signature delivery, and i dont care if any of you like it or not!!! Cause when some thug steals it off your porch, I am sure as hell not buying you a new one. If fedex left it withotu a real signature, they can pay for it. if your sisters boyfriends drug addict brother signs for it and runs off and sells it on craigslist, its not my problem then either!

signature delivery saves asses when boxes come up missing. to leave $500+ in car parts on someones porch is just ASKING for problems. if you arent home, ship it to somewhere you are. or, you can pick it up from your local FedEx station when the driver returns at night.

How did this turn into a fedex versus ups thread ??

Honestly ya your situation sucks but what more do you really expect to be said? It seems as though Chris has done as much as possible to make up for any wrongdoing. As a normally demanding customer, I can relate to your situation but from here you just gotta be civil, patient and understanding. It just makes the situation that much easier to deal with.

Well, technically none of us "get it" as we are not aware of the details behind the issue like you are.

Z1804 03-16-2011 01:12 AM

If a vendor is working with us to resolve an issue, the least we can do is to be patient with them and give them an opportunity to make things right. Once we get on a public forum and post our frustrations and discontent, it's easily interpreted as trying to bathmouth and hurt the vendor's business.

Also, there are worse vendors on this forum who do not pick up the phone, return calls, or live up to their timelines, but forum members continue to give them the benefit of the doubt. I've found that when vendors make mistakes, if we are civil and patient they will often go above and beyond to rectify the situations.

I'm sorry about your wheels OP. Just work with Chris so you can be happy with your purchase at the end of the day.

Youre welcome. You know at first I was sympathetic to your situation. Having read over the last 4 pages of your posts, I can't blame Chris for passing you onto FS. I wouldnt want to help someone that makes the solution more difficult either. If it was your goal to show that this whole ordeal could have worked itself out if you didn't come here and badmouth a good vendor, you have succeeded. I say this again. GOOD LUCK! :tiphat:
