Wheel opinions please!
I have paired my choices to these two wheels:
Bronze Nurburgrings 19x8.5 +20 offset (front) 19x10.5 +27 offset (rear) Matte Black Varrstoen 2.2.2 19x9.5 +22 offset (front) 19x10.5 +12 offset (rear) The Nurburgrings are lighter but don't have a concave look to them. I really like them both just not sure what way to go. My car is metallic sliver and I do not plan on lowering it. |

I know jackshit about offsets but this forum made me like those type of rims.
I still remember me bashing volks, now I am drooling everytime I come over to custom import arts and see those 1200+ euro a piece golden Volk rims. |

I'd pick the varrstoens of those two, simply because of the offsets.
I personally would look to get an inexpensive used set, or something like RPF1's, vs a set of knockoffs. |

I don't like knockoffs.

I agree to a certain extent.... Not everyone has the budget for a set of authentic Volks/Rays. Sometimes people do the best they can with what they have. I personally appreciate when someone takes a car and does mod work that looks clean and flows well, regardless of whether or not they use the best parts. If all you can afford is a Scion tC and some cheap parts, so be it. At least that person will take pride in what they are able to do. Too many people bankroll cars because of the status it confers on them. A true enthusiast is able to appreciate another's passion regardless of whether or not they have the best gear. I see idiots all the time in $100,000 sports cars who can't drive, who don't know anything about the car, and who only bought it to look cool. The fun comes in the passion for cars in general not in the fact that you can afford something. Last edited by JJ-NISMO; 02-21-2011 at 03:25 PM. |

Amen. I am fully financially capable of buying any wheel for my Z. I find a $4000 set of wheels that I am going to scratch up driving almost daily hard to justify. This is why I am looking for a less costly option. |

fair point, to be sure. I just try to avoid supporting knockoff companies. There's plenty of original options that fall in the same price range. They also have the benefit of not being super heavy, or making you look like a poser.

Hey now... you asked for opinions. I responded with one.
Quote:
I'd rather have a real [brand I can afford] versus a fake [item that people know I can't afford]. This isn't just in car parts, either. You see it all the time. Young girls sporting fake Louis Vuitton handbags, acting like they have a Paris Hilton bank account. Yes, that makes you look so chic and rich... not. At the end of the day, whatever makes you happy and feel good about your purchase is what matters. Certainly not my opinion, but maybe the opinions of those that get on your fanboat will help if you aren't confident about your decision.
