Since you are in Boston, the condition of the roads are pretty attrocious. I would stay away from spacers for the reasons mentioned above and also because hitting a pot hole could be a non issue with a spacer-less setup but can spell disaster if you are running spacers as you are adding potential weak links into the area of the car that takes the most abuse.
