I've run BFG KDW 2's and Bridgestone Potenza RE050A and I will run the Potenzas from now on.

The KDW's are very loud but they are super grippy and the Potenzas are a better all around tire.

Love the Hankooks, especially for the money.

Just out of curiosity why is it that it is rare to find 370z drivers who have chosen the Michelin PS2 for a tire, im just curious is it due to cost or is there something better, i have had them on previous cars and havn't had to complain that just cause i really liked them.

There are many reviews that compare other tires mentioned here to the PS2s. Some beat the PS2s in different areas and most are cheaper. Those findings together lead to people buying the other tires.

I have been running the Michelin Pilot for years and have found them to be the best tires I have ever found.....The reason I run them is because they are very responsive (they corner and make any car perform to its best) and that is what I want out of any car. That is what, to me, the Z is all about(handling)....not acceleration.......but cornering.....responsiveness.......
I dont understand why the Michelins are not that well liked here. Is it just because those here think they are too expensive? They "wear" great !

They are not even among the choices in this Poll......WHY ? is it because People here have not discovered them ? Because they are too expensive? "WHY" ?????

There are lots of better tires out there for less $ than Michelin PS2's. That is why not many people use them I would imagine.

I bought the V12s thinking they were the hot stuff after the C&D article, I found them to be better than average at best.

I'm looking at getting the Potenza RE 960AS Pole Positions... Any thoughts on these?

In terms of treadlife, performance and functionality (both summer and winter here in the TN valley), they seem like a smart choice...

BTW, this is my first post. Traded in my 2010 WRX for my Z on Friday, and of course with 11k on it, the yokos are bald in the rear.

HERE IS WHAT I WANT A Z FOR.......(QUOTED FROM ABOVE MENTIONED TESTS)

Still, the PS2s pulled an above-average 0.92 g on the skidpad and exhibited a very sure-footed, predictable demeanor. Unlike most of the other tires, the PS2s were responsive to steering inputs at the limit and would tuck back in nicely after their grip was exceeded. Another positive is pleasant ride quality, noted in the street-driving portion.

In the wet, the benchmark PS2s showed their mettle, feeling the most connected to the road and reeling in the quickest lap time—beating the Ling Longs’ dry time—and generating a heady 0.88 g on the skidpad, which was as high as two of the competitors’ best efforts in the dry.

To me....and I guess only me....that is what a Z is all about !!!!!!

You haven't tried RE11, Direzza SS, AD08 and Kumho XS. They are way better than your Michelin

I don't know about the PS2's. I selected the PS A/S Plus because, while super expensive, they provide all weather (only light snow) performance. Winters here are in the 30's and 40's sometimes dipping into the 20's, and it is wet. Summer tires like the PS2 or the Potenza's that came on the car don't seem safe to keep on after October. I didn't find many all-season choices for the Z. But the PS A/S Plus tires get rave reviews. At over $300 bucks each they better!

It is the benchmark, and im surprised they didn't put in the results it scored, well those could be looked up. My question was pretty much this and you answered it, even though it seems your a bit upset at the other guy.

I also am not a big fan of basing a tire choice off a magazine article, I do understand that people are looking for something better and cheaper, but you have to sacrifice something at some point. I understand not everyone has the money to spend $400 on a a rear tire, and I technically don't either, but im not one that is willing to sacrifice in certain areas to save a few bucks, those couple of areas may save your life. I have a friend who has offered me an amazing deal on Toyo's but im not sure if I will take them. I have never diven Toyo's before.

In my history with PS2's I wont complain for an all around tire that can hold its own with out having to worry about at much. AKA a new better version of the tire came out. Eventually the PS3's will come out, if they call them that.

I think after running them and going through some of the stuff i have gone through with them they have always made a place on any car i own, I might not be able to afford them over and over, but based on my passed history it would be well worth it. I am open to alternatives, for me it really needs to be done on a test that includes all tire standings, including the PS2 in that article those numbers are not there to compare, and or personal experience(driving someone else's car with different tires or swapping wheels).

Thanks for the replies guys(gals to if any chimed in)

I've had Kumhoes XS tire grease up on me/few friends in the mountains, not even at a track, I have not tried the RE11, from what i've heard it is loud, don't want anymore noise then i already have. AD08's and Direzza SS i also have not tried and have heard nothing about, this is my standing.

Yes, i put the ES on the Kumho for a reason, IMHO they are a waste, great value, great for the first couple weeks, once they get broken in or used it is over.

I hope these last two post provide to why i asked about it, in a none agressive manner. Thank you everyone for chiming in.
