Nismo put the wider tires to justify the bigger wheels and the extra $5000 premium. It gives you better tire compound and better traction off the line, that's pretty much it unless they tune the suspension differently. It's simple physics that your car will understeer more if you put wider tires in the rear than the front. Can you feel it? It all depends on how you drive or if you know how to drive. I have 265F and 285R RE11, the car still plows like a mofo when I race.
Oh yeah, changing to RE11 in the back and stockers in the front, I can tell you the car will definitely understeer a lot. |

they have the 245s up front and 285s in the back. What do you recommend? |

I can't speak for the Nismo, but your car will understeer even more than now if you put 285s in the back and keep 245s in the front. I have 265 in front and 285 in the rear, the car still understeers a little bit.

interested in straight away speed and I'm looking for an upgrade to increase traction to the rear tires (i.e. better launch). |
