Also I preffered the lugs with the capped head vs. open end. I know open is probably lighter but I like the finished off look. When you are talking Ti i doubt the difference is much anyway. Not a deal breaker though.

yeah unfortunately that would be pretty hard to do though it would look sick.

and sorry guys gonna be honest here this has been put on the backburner for at least a week, just busy with other stuff, namely Alliance BBKs

OK .. just do not forget the project all together. I figured it would take some work, as no other vendors have jumped on this opportunity yet.

I'd be down for a set of black that fit the sport rims. I could really care less if they're titanium though. Just want something affordable and good quality. Oh and I like the spline lugs.

Mike@Blackline 04-19-2010 01:28 PM

yeah most likely an aluminum option would be available too for cost reasons

j.arnaldo 04-19-2010 01:51 PM

Aluminum is fine by me. Black is preferred however.

going to bump this over to the 3rd page for an answer so it doesnt get missed

courtesy doesn't use standered part numbers they have there own system for the website i had to call for a cross refferance when looking for my axles. Also i have used aftermarket mag nuts before most just come with washers that slide on and off of the nut, they come in a bag when you get the nuts so they don't have to be attached the principle is the same as the oem alluminum wheels that have conical steel seats pressed in ( it's a gm thing). the steel washer is just there to keep the steel nut from scarring the crap out of the nut seat. the ones with the conical steel seats pressed into the wheels for the acorn style nuts also increase the clamping area from the nut to reduce the stress in the wheel that leads to cracking. think of it as a shoulder bolt with a washer, the shank of the bolt aligns the wheel and the washer is there to help in clamping and reduce the stress on the wheel.

On the alluminum alternative, personally i hate alluminum nuts it only takes one getting seized to a stud, cracking/exploding off the wheel in a corner, rounding the crap out of one with an impact removing them if you take it to a shop, to make you really reconsider ever having bought them. Titanium is great though, as well as a heat treated stainless if you are looking for a lower cost alternative to titanium.

thanks for all the input. its been determined that they'll most likely include the washers not built in, like you said. ill see what they say about the heat treated ss
edit: just for my knowledge so I can get straight to asking without having to ask questions about it, what material do you guys recommend the washers be made of? same as the lug nuts, or something different? maybe theres an industry standard material for the washers or something like that

Thanks for staying on top of this. I am not sure what the washer material should be .. I would assume the washer is just a buffer that prevents the torque from damaging the rims ... perhaps I am wrong though ...
