NEW Titanium Lugs!!!

So, I have been talking to a company out of NC to bring us some new sick products for the 370z...

Well they want to gain some interest so I figured I would let you guys vote!

So here it is:

The Prototype:
http://www.blacklinems.com/images/ti/lug10.jpg
http://www.blacklinems.com/images/ti/lug3.jpg
http://www.blacklinems.com/images/ti/lugs.jpg

Now pick your favorite 2-3 colors in the poll: (Remember you can select multiple choices in the poll)

http://www.blacklinems.com/images/ti/colors.jpg

Which ever colors are most popular will be the ones made. Also, I do not know pricing yet but I do know they will NOT be expensive like other titanium lugs where you pay $300+ for a set.

Now get to votin!!!!

Caravanshaka 04-01-2010 12:15 PM

where is black?

bullitt5897 04-01-2010 12:20 PM

blacks not an option lol

Caravanshaka 04-01-2010 12:21 PM

then i vote the burned tip look and black :P

bullitt5897 04-01-2010 12:23 PM

Burnt tip is being made regardless... I can ask about black if there is enough interest

mjch3n 04-01-2010 12:28 PM

I like the burnt tip prototype ones you have the best. Would buy some if price was right!

OMGWTFBBQ 04-01-2010 01:04 PM

These aren't the locking type huh? You know, with the key and everything. :icon14:

JB-370z 04-01-2010 01:21 PM

I like them how much though??? I would like to see them on some wheels as well. Send me a pm with price when you find out buddy.

email them directly:

sales@blacklinems.com

They are the ones offering them. They posted these a while back over on my350.

batman_4 04-01-2010 01:31 PM

titanium burnt and black.

would these be just for aftermarket wheels or for stock 19s?

phelan 04-01-2010 01:34 PM

I like the bear option. I want that on each of my lugs kthx

bullitt5897 04-01-2010 01:47 PM

I can ask about locking versions. I also talked to them about a harness bar and several other goodies in Titanium!!!

And yes they are going to be from Blackline

209Z 04-02-2010 01:27 AM

they will make good money if they can make lugs to fit sports rims. GO GO GO =]

:iagree:

TipsZ 04-02-2010 09:01 AM

No black huh. Hey Bullit, do they make a mag washer style lug that fits the 19" sports package Rays?

bullitt5897 04-02-2010 03:08 PM

I will ask for you guys...

209Z 04-02-2010 08:32 PM

it would be a GREAT investment for the company to be the first. because I contacted volk directly and they said they dont make aftermarket lugnuts to fit sport rims..

Rickey89 04-03-2010 02:26 PM

as tipz mentioned if they do make it, i will buy it....

i have had no luck finding any...and black rims with chrome lugs is not my cup of tea but i will end up having to do that if no one makes them

katsumi 04-03-2010 02:46 PM

TI looks good. +1 on black. Are these 1.25?

radio5boro 04-03-2010 03:01 PM

tell them to PLEASE make aftermarket wheel locks and lugs for the stock 19" sport rims!!!

:iagree: I actually had this idea for exhaust tips. If it's possible it would look hot I think.

XwChriswX 04-03-2010 05:24 PM

Why does everything titanium always have to have that crappy blue burn??? So ugly. (IMHO) No flame pls.

JB-370z 04-03-2010 05:33 PM

Mike is on vacation right now until monday or tues I think. But I love what I see here.

got a lot of questions about this on the other forums, we're looking to get black. problem is you cant anodize black, and obviously black paint wouldnt hold up. powdercoating could be an option but idk if that would affect the lugs when the powdercoating gets into the threads.

we got these in to take pictures, and also to send some samples for anodizing samples.
but there is a locking lug that requires a key that is being made in titanium right now, and will be available in the machined finish, burnt tip, and any anodized colors we stock!

we have a new website under development, its very good looking, and when it nears competition, i will post a link here to the titanium lug nut page with all the options and future designs we have planned (closed end, etc)

bullit called me after seeing a lot of ya'll mention this about OEM wheels. im going to look into it and see about it. we definitely want to fill some market gaps, and it seems like this would be a great way to do this

Mike@Blackline 04-03-2010 08:44 PM

thanks a bunch.
999w2-jt000 yields no parts results on courtesy nissan though

whats the reason for the washer on the lug? ive never seen a mag style with a built in washer like that

kevr6 04-03-2010 08:47 PM

Those lugs should have floating heads to be top notch!

mjch3n 04-03-2010 08:50 PM

If made to fit the OEM sport rays, definitely would purchase a set (in the burnt blue ti)

going to bump this over to the 3rd page for an answer so it doesnt get missed

Rickey89 04-04-2010 11:10 AM

bump for an answer to above post (i figure the faster mike gets the answer the faster we can get some lugs for our oem sprt rims)

OMGWTFBBQ 04-05-2010 12:30 AM

My guess would be that the washer helps to seat the lug nut in place and maybe it prevents the lug nut from messing up the actual face of the wheel? Who knows.

Yeah I was thinking that but the washer is metal all the same. my guess would be that when the lug is tightening down, the washer would press against the wheel, and the back of the lug would spin on the washer's face, so that it doesnt actually on the wheel and tear it up. I really need to see one of these lugs in action in person to get a good feel for this.

can someone tell me how the washer attaches to the lug nut? Does it have a ridge or tab that keeps the washer from sliding off the end? or can you just pull the washer on or off? Answers = product :)

Here's a pic of it, it's built in and has a washer too...

Mike@Blackline 04-05-2010 01:21 AM

ok, but what retains the washer from just falling off the lug if you turn it upside down?

I dunno, I'm sure it can be removed..... damn... I never really checked this and had them for 2+ years.... :ugh2:

I'll check tomorrow morning for you... I'll take some pics too.

Mike@Blackline 04-05-2010 01:32 AM

my man, thanks a lot. itd be great if they could be removed; that way when we duplicate the functional part of the lugs, whoever could just slip the washers off and slip them on the new lugs since the contact points would be the same.

that all being said, what kind of design do you guys want to see for the lugs? no point in copying it exactly, we can make them a little bit longer, open end, closed, spline, etc. We could even do something cool where the lug is say seven sides, so that it serves as a lock in itself. it would definitely keep costs down to not have to develop a new lug and then a new lock.

ideas and what you'd like to see :)

nogoodname 04-05-2010 01:36 AM

There are no aftermarket locking lugs that fit the OEM wheels for the Z and the entire Infiniti line up....(same lugs BTW) besides the OEM locking lugs that are easy to break off..

I think the seven sided lug (one side should be shorter) would be awesome... Just make all the lugs seven sided...LoL
