Default Best winter tires

I've just been using all-seasons for all my vehicles. I'm looking for a change as far as better grip. Since moving closer to Nashville, TN I'm experiencing a bit more ice on the roads than I am used to closer to Memphis. And next winter I'd like to be prepared with better tires for when I come back here on leave from wherever I will be stationed.

The top ones I came across were:
Michelin X-Ice Xi2
Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi
Blizzak WS60
Blizzak LM-60

I'm kind of stuck between which would be best. I'd be putting at first on a 04' GrandPrix GT, 04' Mustang GT, and '08 Dodge Ram 2x4. Will go onto a 370z when I get out of training.

From reading around the Nokian seems to be top pick along with the Michelin X-Ice Xi2 over the Blizzaks. Nokian getting more or less the best reviews. I'd like some more input because quite frankly, I'm not a huge motor head, so please forgive any "noob" questions I may pose.

I am currently using the LM-60's and I will completely vouch for them. With the insane amount of snow and ice we've gotten this winter in the northeast, I've had little to no sliding during any of my commutes to work and I've yet to get stuck. This is also without weighing down the backend with a sandbag.

I will say that handling took a hit, but that's to be expected going from the stock tires to a winter tire.

i will personally say the blizzacks suck. i have them on my car now and they in now way compair to the michelin pilot alpins that i had the year before. the wife will not drive the car now in the snow where last year she would take it back and forth to work without a care. (280km round trip) I currewnty run the XI@'s on my fx50S and love them as well. as for the other ones you mentioned I cannot say as I have not driven on them but the Michelin's will be all thast ever go on my car. I am scraping the blizzacks after this winter. not even trying to sell them just slicing the side wall and too the dump.

I only mentioned the Blizzaks because I've seen several people mention them on several forums. I have seen in reviews that the Michelins fair better than Blizzaks.

But I haven't seen too much on the Nokian. Figured some Z users here would have experience with them on a nice RWD car like the 350/370.

I read around and the people that have the Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi tires love them as far as winter driving in Canada, etc. So I figured I'd mention them.

The Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi are considered the best if you wanna get around in a lot of snow and ice. Generally the only places in North America that I have seen sporting this brand and tire is in Upstate NY, New England area, Upper portions of the Mid-Atlantic and the Great White North. O ya and from personal experience, they are used heavily all over Scandanavia... damn i miss Stockholm : (.

I have studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta tires on my truck and they are amazing. South of New England forgo the studs, they will just wear out quickly and make noise.

I have studless Michelin X-Ice 2 on the Camaro and these have been good. Sidewall is a little soft but this is a winter tire after all.

Haven't personally used the Blizzacks but many people swear by them.

My Dunlop Graspic DS-3's are awesome!! I think they are way better than the Blizzaks I used to have on another car. Incredible ice grip.
