Default RE050A Pole Positions - positive so far

Just got new tires (yes, AK, I got them through the site link ).

Other than the noise, I was very happy with the stock tires, so I was just going to get them again, but I saw that the Pole Positions were only $20 more. After reading the reviews, I thought I'd try them.

So far, I'm happy. I took them to the track this weekend and they were very predictable. I *think* they had as much grip as the RE050s, but it's hard to tell, because it was my first day at Thunderhill. They are slightly quieter in daily driving, and just seem to handle well on the track and around town.

Big bonus: they do MUCH better in the rain. The car actually feels stuck in the rain, where before it felt totally unglued.

So, unless they wear like crap, I'm happy (and their newly updated treadwear actually says they will last longer than the RE050s. It feels like all upside and no downside for only $20 more on a $1200 set of tires. The Pole Positions came out in 2006, so I can't figure out why Nissan didn't just fit them as OE.

Anyway, that's my story. The reviews say the Pole Positions have as much grip as the standard RE050s, but I'd be curious to do a back to back on the skid pad...
