When you go wider the sidewall also gets taller so you get less of a sidewall... I have 305/30/19 and 255/35/19, I had 305/30/19 and 255/40/19 and the taller sidewall

I have 305/30/19 and 255/35/19, I had 305/30/19 and 255/40/19 and the taller sidewall in the front drove me crazy, i just changed the fronts on monday... this pic has 40 profile which is still too tall imo the sidewalls are nearly identical now after getting 255/35 because the 305 width makes the sidewall a bit taller... hope that makes sense... Just get the same tire in a 35 or 40 profile and you are good to go, with the 285/35's I would prob get a 40 profile to match is better but you may still scrape on some bumps here and there
