Default New shoes for baby

Finally had to replace the factory installed Yokohamas on my non-Sport Touring model. I got ~25K miles out of them. Yesterday I had the local Big Brand Tire, Tire Rack's recommended installer, put on stock sized Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum.

Not interested in making any comparisons to other choices BTW - just reporting mine. I'm expecting these to run quieter and last longer. One of the attractions is a 6 year/ 60K mile tread life warranty. I did run them up to low triple digit speed on the way home and the car feels as rock solid as it always has under those conditions. Anyway, time will tell if it was a good choice.

I can guarantee you the tires won't last 60k. I would guess it will last around 20k miles, the fronts should last about 30k. Tires just don't last very long when they can't be rotated.

You may be right. My own experience with tire rotation says that other tire maintenance is perhaps more important, however. Case in point is my previous vehicle which was a 2004 GMC Envoy SLT. It came equipped with Michelin P245/65R17 Cross Terrain tires. As with every vehicle I've owned over the past 50 years, I NEVER rotated them. I did however strictly maintain tire pressure and wheel alignment. These original tires yielded 82K miles over 4 years before being replaced with another set of the same tires.

Now obviously these are two different types of vehicles and I sure as hell drive the Z more aggressively than I did my truck so I don't disagree that I may not get 60K miles on the new "shoes". OTOH, I'm not nearly as pessimistic as you are about the end result. After all, I got 25K miles from those soft summer performance Yokohamas. Like I said originally, time will tell.

They will last well over 30k, they are 600 treadwear rated all season tires. The tires you just we able to get 25k out of were under 200 rated. Just be careful pushing those tires in the twisties they are going to have MUCH less grip than your old tires.

How on earth do you have 25k on your Z? That has to be the highest mileage I have seen on a 370 so far.

My thoughts as well, there is another thread asking about "mileage so far" I think the max there is about 16k so your 25k easily tops that...

We're talking about overall mileage on the car, not just the tires. There's a thread where people chime in saying how much mileage they have and some even post a picture of the odometer.

If I had the stock 18's, the only tire I'd consider getting are Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs. Nothing else.

Although I'm "retired" and have moved out of the area where my former employer is located, the company still calls me in on a fairly regular basis. Every week that I work I accumulate about 450 miles. Also, this year I took a ~4,500 mile road trip (Miles so far). The result was a lot of mileage (Randon Question: highest Mileage).

Whatever floats your boat. They don't satisfy my criteria of tires that will "run quieter and last longer" than what came from the factory. With a classification on Tire Rack as "Extreme Summer Performance", a UTQG of 200AA, no match to the stock front tire size, and no tread life warranty at all you can see why your preference wasn't my choice.

People are talking about 9-16k miles you should change the tires. I have roughly 9,000 miles on my stockers. When is it recommended I change mine?!!! I don't know crap about tires! I had the same tires on my 350 for over 20k and it drove like new from day one til the end
