Summer tires in the winter

It would look stupid and would be dangerous. With snow tires in the rear you would be able to accelerate but with summers up front you wouldn't be able to

The stock tires on the ray's are terrible in the snow.i picked up my Z the day after a snow storm drove 45 mins to home, when i got there i got stuck for 1 hr pulling into my street... next day i ordered some michelin IceX2s and 4 18" wheels. Problem solved!!!

You drove it home after the Snowtober storm? Damn that was ballsy. Only just got my electric back last night from that.

Default stock 18" OEM potenzas: snow performance?

Will the stock 18" potenzas be as bad as the 19" potenzas in snow?

Pardon my cluelessness; first sports car and never had to deal with tire science

The stock 18"s are Yokohama Advans, not Potenzas, but yes, they will be equally horrible in the snow.

I recommend going to TireRack to put together a winter setup (wheels + tires). You can do one for the Z for about $1200 excluding shipping.
