Check the back side of your Discount Tire paper work. For Discount Tire, there are two types of warranty:

The Certificate for Repair, Refund or Replacement = cost $, but will replace or refund in full

The Limited Warranties = free, but only refund $ on a pro rata basis.

I got a pro rata refund on my 2 yrs old 6/32 RE-11 when my sidewall was ripped from sharp concrete.
