I don't see scuffs or wear on the shoulders after my spirited drives, so for my driving it doesn't. Sidewalls are soft though compared to the S04's and RE11's. RE11's are a nice choice too, not stiff at all.

I recommend the RE11s. If you don't track at all, you should get excellent mileage out of them.
