Exclamation Click/Clunk Sound when turning sharp Right-With VIDEO (Not Full lock)

Hey Guys,

Search: First off I did truly searched the forum and found several answers but nothing that pinpoints the issue or a resolution.

Issue: When turning sharp right (at speeds lower than 15mph) (Not Full lock) I can hear a clicking clunking sound coming mostly from the front driver side. Not idea what this could be and it is driving me crazy.

Mods: Stock with only 20mm spacers in all 4 corners, which I triple checked that are torqued at spec. Car has only 10,000 miles.

Solution: Any advise please.

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=watch?v=lF-tO8-AT-0

Any help is greatly appreciated.

can you feel any response/feedback on your steering wheel in relation to the sounds?

I cannot. No feel/vibration from the steering wheel.

hope this helps!

We don't have front axles, only in the rear.

Yea,, take it in. warrantee. Don't take "Failure to Duplicate " as an answer.
Good luck. Probably just a rare defective part. Don't get bummed out.

So the stealership said that because I change the wheels to Sport Wheels (Mine is a base model) and that the 20mm spacers is what its causing the issue. I don't know if this is the case but I don't think so. What do you guys think?

They're simply passing the buck. Have you checked to make sure a fender liner isn't out of place and rubbing the wheel when its turned?

Did they try to replicate the problem or at least examine the suspension? If not, they can't make a diagnosis so they can't say what caused it.

That said, there is a chance the suspension changes could be the cause of the problem. I'd get a diagnosis from an independent shop and then proceed based on that diagnosis.

FWIW, even if your mods are the problem, that doesn't void the rest of your warranty.

Thanks guys for the responses.

I guess they said that they "tighten" the spacers and the wheels to specs. They said that spacers are dangerous (????) anyhow, it does not make the sound anymore. (Knock on wood)....

Sounds like improper installation. Not a warranty claim.

If the shop did the job right, you shouldn't have any problems. There is nothing inherently dangerous with spacers (unless you go wild) but installation can be a little tricky for a novice.

Personally, I'd get an accurate torque wrench and double-check all 20 lugs.
