Why are the stock wheels not symmetric (right/left sides)?

The wheels have a twist in order to give the car a feeling of motion when stationary. They aren't symmetrical because it would increase production cost, and it's really hard

They aren't symmetrical because it would increase production cost, and it's really hard to see the left and right side of a car at the same time. A lot of manufacturers, even Porsche, have done wheels with a directional pattern, a la Porsche twist or Honda GSR blades, but most do not make a left and right side specific pattern.
