GoPro HD Motorsports HERO available at Forged Performance!

GoPro HERO Cameras

http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...Forged/kit.jpg

These little cameras are so badass!

GoPro’s HD Motorsports HERO is the world’s highest performance 1080p HD on-board video and still photo camera. Professional quality 1080p, 960p, and 720p HD resolutions record at 30 frames per second (60 fps in 720p). The HD Motorsports HERO easily mounts to any helmet, motorcycle, ATV, car, plane, jet ski, boat, snowmobile or other vehicle. The camera’s quick-release mounting design makes it easy to re-position the camera around your vehicle for professional quality HD video from several angles.

Record up to 2.5 hours on a single charge and up to 9 hours total on a 32GB SD card (not included).

Included are mounts for two helmets and three vehicles, as well as a suction cup for maximum versatility and convenience. The housing is waterproof to 180’ / 60m.

GoPro's obsession with sound has conquered the wind. At 85 mph on a motorcycle, you’ll enjoy the throaty sound of your motor, not the wind. Inside even the quietest street cars, hear the pull of your motor...not the drone of the wind and road.

Included is a 1100mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery that lasts for up to 2.5 hours of constant recording. With optional accessories, you can also plug the camera into a wall outlet, cigarette lighter, or with any USB-compatible power adapter, wire it directly to your vehicle’s electrical system. The battery will charge while you record.

The camera can also shoot automatic 5MP photos at 2/5/10/30 and 60 second intervals during your drive or ride, hands free. Press the shutter button once and record up to 2.5 hours of poster-print quality photos.

Waterproof to 180’ / 60m and protected from rocks and other hazards thanks to its removable polycarbonate housing. Replacement housings and lens kits are available, making repairs or refurbishing your HD HERO camera affordable and convenient.

Can this be mounted to the bar behind the seats, perfect spot, but that bar is not really any standard and fat.

Nice camera bar ;)

It comes with a nice suction cup mount as well so it can be mounted to the windshield as well.

a lot of HPDEs won't allow window mounts from what i've heard :\

maybe from the rear window ;)

Ryan@Forged 01-25-2010 02:18 PM

:P you can put it on the bumper too. We have done this countless times. Makes for some pretty cool videos. I am not sure of the HPDE rules on window mounts. My camera is mounted on my roll cage cross bar.

vipor 01-25-2010 02:25 PM

so we'll also need to purchase an SD card correct?

Newegg.com - Kingston 32GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model SD4/32GB - Flash Memory

about $90 for a 32GB it seems.

Ryan@Forged 01-25-2010 03:13 PM

Yes, you will need to also purchase a SD card.

They range anywhere from $10-$90 (sometimes more) depending on the storage capacity.

racerxj17 01-25-2010 03:15 PM

bump for this camera, its ******* amazing!!!! both picture, and sound. ive mounted it on my utv below (its got 20" of travel, but its still rides closer to a truck than a Cadillac!) the picture is what you what expect from a TV show, not a small camera. perfect sound, no wind noise at all. i have THREE mini HD camcorders, and this blows them all away. i paid more too......nothing but good things to say.

vipor 01-25-2010 03:33 PM

Just spoke with the guy who manages all of The Driver's Edge HPDEs. He said there aren't any real rules about cameras. You can put them on the windows, bumpers, whatever. Just so long as it doesn't block your view.

Togo 01-25-2010 06:39 PM

Wow the clarity is amazing.. i've been thinking about getting one of these for hte longest time just to put on my helmet for motorcycle rides etc... might have to get one soon

STItoEVOX 01-25-2010 08:27 PM

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...01/plusone.gif I saw some of the footage and it's amazing. I watched a video review (3 parts) that i found on it on YouTube. After that and the vids I've seen, I'm sold. Now it's just a matter of time before I need one, lol.

Ryan@Forged 01-26-2010 04:39 PM

Sounds like tons of nice reviews :)

I hope to talk to you guys soon!

Now I wait for my SDHC card to come in.......

I'll post some sample videos and mounted pictures later.

AK370Z 01-29-2010 01:02 PM

Sweet! Now go out and make a video for us. I was told if you're going to mount it outside, keep it inside the clear plastic (waterproof shell). You get less wind noise. Also, don't forget to switch to low sensitivity (for outside recording) and high (for the inside).

Video now or :ban: ... J/K

hahah. Like I said, no memory card yet. Newegg is much slower than Forged :shakes head:

I've already played with it a bit to set it up. Changed it to 1080p, set the time and date, etc. Unfortunately, the setting to flip the video (hang the camera upside down) is not in my camera, and the firmware isn't available for the HD Hero on GoPro's site at this time. I'll be giving them a call I guess.

Ryan@Forged 01-29-2010 01:29 PM

Nice to see you received everything so quickly. We are working to start keeping the memory cards in stock so we can send them out at the same time. Would save you guys a bit of trouble.

vipor 01-29-2010 01:38 PM

Yeah I was able to save about 16$ compared to GoPro's price anyways.

Do you know anything about the new firmware for the HD Hero?

Also, what's this orange rubber thing that came with it?

antbear 02-04-2010 01:57 PM

:driving: Let me know when you get the memory cards I will call to order the complete set up. I want the 100% package.

vipor 02-04-2010 02:15 PM

If they don't have them yet you can order them from a site like NewEgg. It will be the same exact product. I believe GoPro typically sells the Kingston brand (which is the same one I purchased.)

Newegg.com - Kingston 32GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model SD4/32GB - Flash Memory
$75.49 with Free Shipping and no Tax.

It's actually gone down like $5 since I purchased mine 2 weeks ago.

vipor 02-04-2010 02:17 PM

I've attempted to contact GoPro in regards to the HD HERO firmware upgrade that will support image flipping. Still waiting on a reply.

I'm also interested in when the ALCDB-001 LCD Bakpac will be available. The ABPAK-001 Battery Bakpac too.

antbear 02-04-2010 02:24 PM

vipor..............

:tiphat: Thanks for the Flash Card info and link.

If you get the flip software ..... how will you then mount the camera to improve the bar across seats mounting?
