Hey guys I hope you checked with that site I posted to make sure the memory card you're ordering is 100% compatible. I grabbed the most recent list:

List of Proven Compatible SDHC Cards
by Rambo on Fri Jan 08, 2010 2:39 am

List the cards that you have proven works in the GoPro HD Cameras.
I'll update the list below as more are added.

Just to clarify the word COMPATIBLE.
Means the camera performs all the functions correctly as designed by the manufacturer, not just it records video therefore it must be ok. It must record high motion video correctly in ALL modes.

I don't recommend Class 4 so they won't be listed here and price difference is comparable to Class 6
I do recommend 16Gb cards, the battery will run out just as they fill up.....think about that. Why not change the card at the same time

100% Compatible
Patriot 16Gb Class 6
Kingston 16Gb Class 6
PNY 16Gb Class 6
Edge 16GB Class 6

Works but at your risk
Patriot 32Gb Class 6
Kingston 32gb Class 6
SANDISK Video HD 16GB Class 4

Known to have issues for now
Silicon Power
SanDisk (except the one above)
Anything without a Class number on it.

:tiphat: Thanks for the Flash Card info and link.

If you get the flip software ..... how will you then mount the camera to improve the bar across seats mounting?

I've been focusing on the suction cup mount to the rear window. I'll post some pics a little later today.

Video now or :ban: ... J/K

That might have been true for the last, non-HD model. But with this one they've totally revamped the audio capturing capabilities. There's not even a HI/LO setting like the last model. With the HD model you'll receive 2 kinds of backings for the mounting case: one will be solid for a waterproof housing; and the other is slotted for higher audio sensitivity. So if you want to hear that exhaust, for example, use the slotted backing. If you plan on reaching really high speeds or need it waterproof use the solid backing. Its actually pretty impressive compared to the non-HD version at how good it is of avoiding wind noise when mounted outside.

I'll try to figure out how to upload some of my videos to show you guys what I'm talking about.

I did not read that list, but am using a Kingston 32GB SDHC Class 4 and have had no issues in any way.

I was also testing the unit with a SanDisk 1GB SD and it worked fine too (except for the massive lack of storage.)

YouTube supports the videos recorded by the unit with no issues. I've found that even the backed housing picks up exhaust and other sounds just fine. I'll probably run one day this weekend with, and another without.

Do you have any shots of how you have your camera mounted?

m4a1mustang 02-04-2010 02:50 PM

Post up some videos asap. If I like them I am going to call Forged and order this. They are depending on you, vipor! It's up to you for them to receive my monai!

Glad to hear you're using your Kingston 32 with no issues. I just rememberd the feeling when I ordered my camera and found out some of the big name cards were not 100% compatible, so I'm just hoping to help some potential buyers avoid any confusion or card problems.

You better post up some vids man! I'm sure these guys arent as interested to see the videos mounted on my Evo X. There are literally NO bad angles on the 370Z so I can't wait to see what you got.

iMovie resized to 480p when I cut a short clip out of a 15min drive. Stupid GF's MacBook. I have Vegas on my home PC so the real track vids won't suck as much. I think I figured out what was rattling too, so don't pay attention to it.

m4a1mustang 02-04-2010 02:57 PM

Thanks for spending my $300, jerk. :P

vipor 02-04-2010 02:58 PM

hahahaha. 380$ actually. gotta get the SD card.

I'll post an HD vid later.

I'm thinking about getting balsy (if it's dry this weekend) and doing a fender shot including the wheel. It'll be a fun vid if so :D

I need to get a couple of these. Anyone tried mounting to a helmet? I know go-kart racers do that but wondering what it would look like inside a car.

Check out the website. MANY people have them mounted to helmets. The HD Motocross video is sweet

Yeah, saw helmet shots but not from inside a car. Was just wondering what the perspective would be like through the windshield. I do like the Motocross vids though ;)

1080p YouTube sucks. Run at 720p.

Terrible attempt at mounting this thing hahahah

It's just too bad they don't have an external mic jack.

I guess you could use a digital sound recorder and sync video with sound if you wanted.

:iagree: I wish they had external mic setup.

I like the videos vipor. Run test 2 was shot with this angle?

spearfish25 02-04-2010 09:27 PM

You're pretty fidgety in that video, Vipor. Looks like you had to take a pee but you were stuck in traffic and had to wait :)

Naw, I think it was higher. Don't have a vid of that mount yet, haven't taken the time to flip the video. Need to though.

m4a1mustang 02-05-2010 09:03 AM

So did you have to pee?

antbear 02-05-2010 09:06 AM

Bunch of reasons actually heh. The jacket I was wearing likes to bunch up behind me so that's always annoying. I have a habit that's hard to break also; I look at every work van or truck that passes, as they might be potential customers. I keep my voice recorder app on my phone within reach so I can call them.

Good to know, buddy. Let us know if you have any problems!!!

Ryan -- sorry for hijacking the thread. We're keeping it somewhat on topic and keep it up at the top, so I suspect that's not a bad thing. ;)

Ryan@Forged 02-05-2010 10:19 AM

I have no problem whatsoever with your posts as long as they are related to the topic, which they are. Plus you both placed orders
