Default Motion Lab Tuned 2014 NISMO 303WHP/253WTQ Solid gains through-out the RPM range!

Shop: Motion Lab Tuning
Dyno Type: Dynocom FX5000-AWD
Fuel: 93OCT
Target AFR: 12:1 -> 11.3:1
SAE Corrections: Default Corrections
Peak HP at RPM: 303whp @ 7300 RPMs
Peak Torque at RPM: 253Wtq @ 3800 RPMs
Transmission: Stock 6speed
Gear: 4th
Engine Management: UpRev Osiris tuning suite
Engine/Power Modifications:
  • Fast intentions Cat back exhaust
  • Stillen Gen3 intake kit
  • UpRev software

These are the final results that we got out of a 2014 NISMO we had stop by around a week ago. He had been rocking the Fast Intentions CBE for a bit, and was about to move forward with a set of Stillen Gen3 intakes which is what opted for him to schedule a dyno tune. Wanted to make sure AFR was proper and try to let Todd work some magic to pick up some low end grunt and power. We ended up seeing great gains all the way across the RPM range in both HP and TQ. Great results to still have the factory catalytic converters still in place. Resonated test pipes or HFC would be a great next step for this car to see some extra power up top with a little extra dyno time. Left what some might say is a bit rich up top, but gains from leaning it out were pretty much negatable so a little extra headroom for your run of the mill pump gas is never a bad thing.

Thought you did all your dynoing in 5th, why 4th here?

We began utilizing the PAU/Eddy brake for ramp rate style testing as that has recently been enabled in the dyno software. Similar to the method of testing utilized by Mustang and Dyno Dynamics type dynos. Previously it was being utilized like a DynoJet type "inertia" dyno due to a bug in the software preventing the ramp rate testing from functioning correctly.

Thanks,
Alex Goodwin

Peak Torque at RPM: 253Wtq @ 3800 RPMs
Nice and early great job Alex, now I know why mine pulls so hard down low.

Lol sorry sometimes it can be difficult to figure out a way to explain it without using all the jargon that comes along with chassis dyno. Essentially we are using a eddy brake to apply additional load through-out the dyno pull versus depending on the inertia of the rollers to provide resistance. This type of testing usually works best on small roller dynos.

As always thank you for your support Mike! Yeah I think Todd sent you a recent revision shortly after finishing this car up and spending a good amount of time on the VVEL tuning down low. That is much easier to dial in on the dyno versus looking at remote logs. Glad you are enjoying your tune!

Thanks,
Alex Goodwin
