Default Uprev or not?

I have an HKS cbe berk HFCs and post maf silicone intakes with drop in filters. I was thinking of getting stillen gen2 intakes to replace the silicones and drop ins. Now can get the car tuned with these mods without getting the up rev flash?

The UpRev flash is the tune so I don't really follow your question.

Side note. If you aren't going CAI, then just stick with your maf tubes.

There is no way to tune without "getting the up rev flash", as you put it.

A tune is useful for throttle response and fan control even without any mods. You don't need a tune for intakes and exhaust, but a tune will take advantage of them better than the stock tune. A tune really helps the car utilize bolt-on mods to their full potential.

But if I get uprev can I have a shop just put uprev on the car and call it a day, or do I have to put the car on the dyno and have them calibrate AF along with other things? Someone on the forum was saying after some mods especially intakes the car would run a little on the lean side.

You need to get a dyno tune. That's how the program works. If you don't have access to a dyno, you can log certain parameters, email them to the tuner and he'll change the map based on what your ecu is seeing. A dyno tune is always better than an Etune.

Another problem I have is that I've heard others say they are having problems with emissions after getting uprev is this true?

So after buying uprev which is $500, what's an average price for a tune another $500 or so?

I thought you could just buy the Flash without getting it Dyno'd? Personally, the difference of a few hunded to put it on a dyno and get the full potential out of the tune makes sense to me but I thought you could just flash it with pre-programmed settings and be done if you wanted. Almost positive thats what a shop told me...

for the running lean part, all you need to do is get a reflash with osiris engine management. i got it done this weekend and it was $300... that's if you don't want to tune your car, which i didn't want to, because i want to get some more parts put on first. At the shop i went to a tune would run me now about another $300. i'll do that when i install another 3 parts

I guess you could go with Ecutek instead of Uprev, but that's a entirely different can of worms. And friends don't let friends buy short ram intakes. Stick with what you've got and get an Uprev tune. You don't need to reinvent the wheel.

The engine bay is flooded with heat. The factory boxes actually pull air from outside the engine bay. If you go to a short ram then you are pulling air from the enginer bay. Short rams are a step backwards.

That depends on your state. Go to your local subforum and ask.

It depends. Start calling potential shops. Ask for a recommendation in your local subforum.
