EcuTek ProECU Group Buy

So we have been getting a bunch of calls PMs and emails about a GB on the EcuTek tuning for the 370. I wanted to see if there was an interest, and roughly how many folks would like in?

This would be for the ProECU cable kit, with one license, and a custom re calibration , based on your datalogs, for your car.

As you may have gathered from other threads, our tuning comes complete, with all your future updates covered, as long as you own the car. Any mods you do, simply submit a new set of logs, and we port you out a new file within a short time.

Want to go to the dyno? Just let us know, and we will put you at the top of the que that day, so you don't waste expensive dyno time waiting for updated files.

The GB will be for normal atmo cars. If you have a FI set up, PM me and we can discuss the difference. I will include the FI guys,if the interest is there, but with a slight bump for the extra work involved.

Oh, and BTW, yes, if you buy in this GB(assuming you guys want one) , you WIL GET ALL FUTURE RACEROM UPDATES FOR FREE. I just wanted to make this clear, so when the patch get to us that includes flat foot shifting, launch control, map switching, custom mapping, etc, ect, you WILL RECEIVE IT as part of your initial buy. Yes, its a bunch more work for us this way, but we are so sure that this software is the best option for this platform, we are willing to do it to get you guys dialed in. I hope that answers questions on that.

Now, your gonna ask" what discount for the GB?". I can't tell you just yet, as I need a show of hands to see who might be on board. But I will tell you this, our normal pricing for this car is lower than you can get a custom calibration
anywhere. And since we buy in bulk, your cost on hardware going to be far less also. So, in essence, the more the merrier!

So, anyone interested?

Mitco39 06-13-2013 10:19 AM

Might be interested with my FI car. Curious to see how well it drives after having it uprev tuned.

So what is normal pricing in that case?

I'd like to be in the group buy but not sure where I fall? I am currently rebuilding the motor and fabricating a GTR manifold to the car for direct injection.

Interested with an FI car here

tiger123 06-13-2013 10:38 AM

Interested in the GB. I have a 7AT NA 2009.

dP3NGU1N 06-13-2013 11:37 AM

Interested! My car is pretty vanilla - currently only takedas and plan to install the HFCs with CBE later on in the year. Don't intend to do much else after that other than flywheel.

So when you say all future updates are covered just send in our logs you mean that if I add/remove a mod and send you the log you guys will update the mapping for free for lifetime of the car? That's a hell of a deal if I'm not reading it right!

Exactly correct! As long as you stay with the same induction(atmo vs forced) your updates are free for your life(well as long as you own the car, anyway)

Interested!!

Am I the only one asking why there aren't any numbers? Dyno sheets? Prices? Quotas? Results?

dP3NGU1N 06-13-2013 03:46 PM

There's another thread to grope and gripe in. I'm rather certain this is just to guage interest in a group buy later down the road. Just sayin....

No, but you are the only one who can't use the search function or read other threads apparently. :shakes head:

Yessss... I know. We started this thread ;)

I just figured if you're starting a group buy, ya know .. specifics would be cool. That's all.

Rich, really?! One of the things I have always counted on is the simple fact that JV and I have NEVER gone after each other on the forums. Now I know your new to working with him, and I understand that, but a little professional courtesy gos a long way.

There's a line for this answer. Take a number please

jofro6 06-13-2013 06:15 PM

would be interested if the price is a good enough discount compared to what other shops are offering across the country... since etunes dont make it necessary to be anywhere near my tuner

Joe -

I'm not going after you. We have a competing product. It's my job to know exactly what else is available out there. And quite frankly, the timing of your new group buy seems to go completely against this "understanding" between you and Visconti to "never go after each other." We launched our calibration yesterday. We have hard numbers, dyno sheets, power expectations, pricing.. all I wanted to know was what your calibration was producing because none of those details were listed. There's no "bad blood" or hostility here. I'm pretty sure I'm within bounds to ask exactly what you're offering when you're posting a group buy. I apologize if you took it another way, but we're not exactly sure what to make of your timing either.

I'm all for competition. Competition is what breeds the best products. This board and these forums are filled with the same like-minded people as us who deserve to know what they're putting in their car. That's all I'm saying.

Apology, and explanation accepted.

We could post dyno sheets, but I have found over the years that customer posted sheets, without the tuner being present, tend to carry a bit more weight. This is why we have offered several customers our calibrations for free. This is also why all our files carry a 100% money back guarantee. If the customer is not happy, we will gladly refund the calibration price. Been doing this for years, and honestly have had very few takers. It has made us work very hard at customer service, and producing the best files we can

As far as what we are offering; in effect, our calibrations, and JV's are going to be very very close, simply because there is only one path to make more power on the atmo engine, and John and I are very good at what we do.

Cheers

Looks like there is quite a bit of interest! thanks for all the PMs and emails!

We will have a link up for our group buy shortly. There will be two different versions for you guys;

Calibration and license only, with our rent/loan cable service, for those who have no need to own a cable kit

Calibration, license, and purchase ProEcu cable Kit, for those who like cool gadgets, and want to own the kit.

As of right now, looks like pricing will be;

449.99 for the loaner cable set up

749.99 for the purchase cable set up

In addition, the purchase option gets free shipping.

Bear with me on the link, I will do my best to have it up soon, along with some of the results from our crash test dummies,,,,erh test customers!!

stay tuned!!!

anthony909 06-17-2013 11:48 AM

So if I was to purchase the calibration, license, and ProEcu cable Kit would I be able to bring my car some where like Speciality Z to tune my car? If they were willing to tune with ecutek that is..

dP3NGU1N 06-17-2013 11:56 AM

How would the loaner cable work?

diddy535 06-17-2013 12:12 PM

Interested but if we got the loaner does that mean we couldn't get upgrades (like when multiple maps become available)?

I believe you get two weeks to use the cable. They do a CC hold for the cable, then ship it to you. The hold is released when you return the cable.

You will still be eligible for the free upgrades, but doing the loaner cable means you will be at the mercy of one being available as well as the time it takes to ship. I think most people who don't want to deal with having to wait on the loaner cable will be looking to purchase a cable for themselves.

anthony909 06-17-2013 12:29 PM

With this cable the car would be able to be tuned by tuners correct? Or do they need some type of software for themselves?

If you're taking it to a tuner you might as well buy it from ECUTek. It's $600 for the cable/software. The extra money here is paying to record data via the cable and send it to them to have them send back a new map to download to your car. I believe that's right.

The cable just allows you to upload software to the car's ECU. Any EcuTek certified tuner will have the necessary software to create a tuning file. Once the tune is created, Joe emails the file to you, and you use the cable to upload the file to your car.

Yep I guess that's what it comes down to. Thanks :tiphat:

yes if they have the editable software, they will be able to adjust the rom file at their shop. However, this is the complete set up; license, calibration, and adjustments made based on the data you send back to us from the software.

Hell we can even sign on to your laptop remotely and do 90% of the load/download for you if your uncomfortable doing it. But with our step by step instruction sheets, you will be amazed how easy this is.

And if you get into trouble, or you just need a bit of advice, we here 7-10 central 7 days a week. And 24 hours via SMS

Pretty easy;

once ordered, we will forward a authorization form to you via email, you fill it out and sign it, fax back(or scan and email) and your off and running.

You get free rent of the cable for 14 days from arrival. After that its 25$ per week against your deposit. Most folks don't take a week to do this, but we found if there is a clock, it tends to make things move along so the next guy gets a shot quicker.

And don't worry about cables for the loan/rent, we have 50 in our rental fleet

yes you still get the free upgrades! You just have to call and get a cable sent your way. Same deal, you pay the flat shipping, and we hold your cc hostage.
