2 Step tuning with Uprev

Interesting. If this works for 7AT's, then it could be very helpful at the drag strip. I just need an Uprev tune first

That sucks that you have to do all of that. Tell uprev to write new code so it has a secondary limiter that only works when there is no movement of the speed sensor. (car is still) Once the car moves, the standard limiter is on. Thats how I and all of the Evo guys did it with stock ECU tuning.

UpRev's just patching into the car's existing code and putting some flash variables into RAM for map-switching, it's not like they rewrote the ECU from scratch. There's probably limits on what sort of functionality they can enable . It could well be that my issues with slow switching have more to do the MPH limits than RPM limits, and that it would work fine with an RPM-limit-only map.

Just an idea..
Instead of doing swithching from one map to another.
Why not have one of the tuned maps on Uprev just for the launch that can be used at a dragstrip. Just for this map, set the Idle rpm to 2k or 3k. Hold brake down and launch.

I'm not sure if that would work, but you're welcome to try . The idle might not be stable that high or something (idle air volume learning, etc?), if it can even be set that high. Highest I ever set mine (for cold idle) was about 1,200. That was back when I thought I needed it with my current breathing + tune, but it turns out my problems laid elsewhere (I had a disconnected PCV line leaking open air into the intakes affecting idle, and it wasn't me that left it off :/). IIRC last time I set mine up I'm around 700-750 hot out to around 950 cold?

will try if I get a tuner version.
well the difference between the method I suggested is that theoretically there shouldn't be a bog or launch delay.
Isn't launch control in other cars done the same way?

Not exactly. Cars with actual Launch Control don't think they're idling

And the launch control software also actively monitors and controls traction as well.

So my rev limiter is set at 3.2k but I feel like that's very high does anybody know how to bring the rev limiter down?

Once the 2 step is engaged you should be able to raise or lower the RPM limit in real time by clicking the cruise button up or down, or we can change the default RPM in the tune.
