Overseas Uprev tune help.

Im planning to uprev my Z but I live in Panama and there is no Nissan tuner here, forget authorized uprev tuners.

Then I sent many emails to uprev regarding these questions but they never answered me back. So I come here for you guys to confirm or correct what I should know about self-tunning.

1. I buy the $500 Osiris standar package, it will come with a cable and 3 included tunes that they will send me. Each tune will have 5 maps that I can choose with the cruise control.

2. Each of these tunes will require me to datalog my car, do controlled runs and send them the data so they can develop a tune for my car which I load them to my ecu later.

3. It is better to tune with dyno, but not required. Everything I need is a computer and datalog, or is there something else? have in mind I have no access to a dedicated tuner.

4. I can go back to stock tune whenever I want.

I have many friends who owns hondas and subarus and they email-tune with datalog, I just need to reassure there is no risk for me to tune this way.

My car is stock but I already ordered the g3 intake and hfc.

Try contacting Sebs at specialtyZ and buy the system from him, I know He's done remote tuning with uprev in the past. If you can get access to dyno time, it'd be almost the same as having a custom in house tune. Just need a high speed internet line on site.

You'd email Cipher logs and Dyno passes, they tweak the map, and send you a custom tune that you can upload. Should be ready in 4-6 Dyno runs

If you can make it happen, you could even have your tuner remote login to your computer, and he'd be able to tune your ECU directly from your laptop while it's on the dyno. It's possible, it's just a matter of finding a tuner locally that can do it, and an UpRev tuner that will do it.

As some have said gind a dyno shoo that has good internet. Setup a laptop to use for dyno tuning with remotr desktop. Find a tuner willing to RD in and do your tune.

I'd say get the tuner version, buy one etune from uprev so you've got a good base and then tinker with it yourself. All this remote tuning stuff sounds like way more variables to go wrong, and expensive. Since there's no protuner near you you're going to have to buy either Osiris standard or tuner just to get the license...

Why's everybody hating on the etunes?? granted it won't be as perfect and spot on as a full custom dyno tune, but for 95% off the drivers out there its more than good enough
