Default FIXED: UpRev software update now RomEditor not working

I just updated the software 2 days ago, and now ROMEditor.exe no longer launches. it just crashes imidiately and will not open.

Luckely I have Windows Vista (YEAY!) because it was able to restore the files in the directory to about a week back and the RomEditor worked just fine.

I tested doing an UpRev software update again after rollback to a working state just to watch RomEditor.exe BREAK again after the update. Vista restored back to last week and ROMeditor.exe works fine.

I saved the whole ROMEditor folder to a zip file in case this happens repeatedly.

Anybody?

I did read something about Vista and run-as. Doing that gives me a different error; "Invalid access to memory area" and program closes quick.

Rolled it back again to last week's version and program works fine with normal or elevated execution.

That still doesnt get it working. Still says "Invalid win32 application" when launched. Also, the executible's icon changed from the standard grey/red square to something of an unknown association in windows.

No not yet. They've likely been closed since friday when the problem happened.

I keep rolling it back to last week's version and it works just fine.

Hey Windex, I just got off the phone with Jared from UpRev. He thinks he had some wierd/corrupt files on his side of things which may have caused my problems with the updater. I just ran the updater again like 5 minutes ago and now the ROMEditor is working just fine.

So, it was likely corrupt files from UpRev over the weekend. i think he may have just fixed the files this evening.

Everything is working perfectly on my end now.

At least the corruption wasn't as bad as politics. You would of never had it fixed.
