You don't need rear speakers, unless you plan to play a DVD and use them for surround sound. If you can properly setup a good set of front component speakers,

You don't need rear speakers, unless you plan to play a DVD and use them for surround sound. If you can properly setup a good set of front component speakers, you don't even need to spend money on rear speakers. It doesn't have to cost much as I've only spent around $200 for a set of component speakers.
