I am using EcuTek for my my E85 tune, and would like to know what others experienced as MBT and best AFR for their cars using this fuel.

Anyone else have any data they would be willing to share?

I have my WOT AFR running at 12.5-12.8 on the Ecutek data logs with exactly 80% ethanol.

This is with the DA at 3400 ft. So, hot, humid, basically... bad conditions. I am thinking closer to 12.0 would be better for power...

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You are fine in the mid 12s...12.2 to 12.5. My AFR is 14.6 to 14.8 at idle and low to mid 12s under load and I am at 3,500'. Rich is better than lean!

Thank you!

Is that with what Ethanol %? I am finding that a small change in ethanol content, has a large impact on AFR. I dont currently use an ethanol sensor, so I need to watch the percentages closely, certainly for WOT use.

Hmm, I am flex fueled and all is run by EcuTek. Mine does not very much between 91 craptane or e90 114 octane Ignite. I don't know who your tuner is but Seb at Specialty Z can dial it in for ya! Oh and you need to burn some e90 it is nectar to the car gods!

Did you guys find a sweet spot for power in the timing curve?

Some guys tell me E85 likes the same timing as a gasoline tune, or maybe even a little less.

On my may methanol V8 race engines, there is always a minimum timing value were the engine would just max out on the dyno, and more timing just would not improve the power. I am curious if the VQ3.7 is the same way. Mine is currently going from 25 to 29 degrees in every gear.

That is beauty of e85 is is that you can pull more time and you are correct at some point it doesn't help anymore. The better the ethanol the more timing can be pulled to take advantage of the octane. I gained additional who because Seb was able to the control torque by taking out timing!
