Error code U1024

I recently had the VEL Control module replaced as a result of error codes P1092, P1091. I did the VVEL Control Shaft Position Sensor voltage adjustment per manual using Cipher.

Default Error code U1024

I recently had the VEL Control module replaced as a result of error codes P1092, P1091. I did the VVEL Control Shaft Position Sensor voltage adjustment per manual using Cipher. P Codes are gone and I can drive the car, but now I’m getting error code U1024 and don’t know what is causing it. Can anyone help?

Here is a list of my add-on/mods:

1. UpRev
2. Berk High Flow Cats and Cat aBack Exhaust
3. Nismo Cold Air Intakes
4. Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator
5. Oil & Power Steering Coolers

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I had this code after I did some work.. turned out I forgot to plug in something VVEL related. After fixing, I reflashed my ecutek tune and it still showed up on Torque but not in Ecutek software..eventually it went away from Torque as well.

You will have to drive the car to clear the Code. You have to be over 55 so many min. I was try to fin the info in the service Manuel. I replace my VVEL module last month. then drove the car a total of 15 miles at speed of greater then 45mph. Check the coded when I got home. All Clear

My Z is fixed and running better than ever. I replaced the VEL control Module, adjusted the VEL Actuator Sensors myself with UpRev software and didn't have to part with $3200 like the Nissan dealer said I needed to.

When I took my car to Nissan and supposedly spoke to their top mechanic, he had no clue what I was talking about until I showed him in the 370Z service manual. There is absolutely no excuse for that if you are the top shop mechanic.

Do yourself a favor and read the service manual; you'll know just as much as the Nissan Dealer Mechanics.

Stino have you had any other issues come up with the VVEL control module? I have a 2011 Nismo with the Z1 intake plenum and the Stillen Gen3 intakes no tune, and I've had Nissan replace the module over a P1606 code and it started acting up again just yesterday. Hasn't been 3k miles since this work was done. Im stumped.

Since the problem is recurring, I suspect something electrical. Check all wiring for VVEL and related circuits. Check grounding for all components.

Or the module replacement was not done properly.

There's always the chance that you are just unlucky and the replacement module has gone bad.

If I'm just unlucky then I must be the most unlucky person in the world. I got my Z back from the dealer on July 17th and it all seemed fine with the new module and this time they also replaced the ECM saying that it is what caused the VVEL to short out this second time. Alright so long story short I was coming home from a night out and the p1606 and u1024 code came up and the car went limp again. took it to the dealer again and they wont be able to get to the car until tomorrow so no idea what's causing this but this will be the 3rd visit to Naples Nissan for the p1606 code coming up.

You might want to drop the term "Lemon Law" in your next conversation with the dealer.

I replaced the VEL module, both relays, and VVEL Actuator Sensor only (Adjusted voltage with Uprev), not the entire assembly. Unfortunately I purchased the entire assembly for $500 and only used the sensor. I still saved myself $3000+ from the dealer (Stealer).
