It's running windows 7 and had zero issues running the ecutek software, even when doing the data logging. This laptop was only used for this purpose as my regular laptop is a Mac. You could pick up a used one off craigslist pretty cheap and then just install a fresh copy of Windows on it (or have someone install it for you if you're not tech savy).
