Default 370z RPM Launch? Power range?

Hey guys,
I just got my 2014 370z not very long ago and last night was my first night taking it out to the tracks. I'm not very good at launching... Got beat by a 350z stock..was wondering if you guys can give me a little bit of advice on how to launch, or what RPM you launched at on your 370z? And also I was told to search online to see where my Cams starts building power and max power instead of redlining it. A little help on launching and power build range would be great!

Take your buddy's advice and find a dyno graph for the 370Z engine. Using that for reference, read through the many racing/track threads on this site. Then practice, practice, practice.

What times are you running? Are you doing burn outs prior to the tree? slipping clutch or dropping? A lot of factors are there in question so post up details on what you are doing.

Most mags that tested z said 3000-3500 range for launch. Not sure if the details of riding or drop clutch they used. But just practice and remember street launch and track dont usually end up same.

Are u using street tires? The answer to this also depends on the way that ur track is prepped. Over here the track prep isnt that great....they only lay dwn VHT on special events...So the launch pad is not always sticky....On street tires I have to launch at 2500RPM. On drag radials I can push it up to 3000-3200RPM. You will need to experiment and have more seat time to find out what works for you. I would recommend trying to launch at 2500-2800RPM and work ur way up til u find the right spot....Once u feel too much wheel spin that means you gotta drop ur RPM's for the launch

If you have a clutch that can take it you have to slip the crap out of it and use the momentum from the engine as a sort of controlled slingshot.

Easy to say, hard to do. lol I have a hard time making good time myself

Basically not letting the clutch out all the way until you get grip.
