Hehe, first day is nerve wracking. You will progress each time. Looks like fun, much prettier scenery than the rock filled deserts of CA too!
And yeah, you made it home in your own car so you won  .You might try some driving gloves next time. Go to a sporting goods store and just buy the cheapest matching left and right golf gloves you can find.
