We hit 380 f and that was with a pump and cooler.... and have really worked to get them liveable. Change that fluid often ..... For sure! |

I've quite literally had complaints that my car was burning from other drivers as I passed them, diff fluid smells pretty nasty when it smokes.
I change it every time I change the engine oil. I'm definitely wanting a diff cooler but drilling and tapping the pumpkin for fittings is a PITA. If someone made a diff cover with the holes already drilled for the cooling lines that would be awesome! Hint hint, nudge nudge, wink wink.

When I plan longer track days at hot tracks it will be my next mod but my sprints really don't stress rear diff too badly. Temps under 350 degrees mostly. I see one main problems being lack of fluid capacity in stock diff. But cooler is mandatory for anyone running these cars seriously.
