Thanks for everyone that responded I'm in between three cars right now s2k, Z, mustang gt. I was aware of the issue and fearful of it, which is why I created this thread. Which it appears that from some of the responses my fears were well warranted.
Thanks guys and gals.

Given the cars in your search, you may find these threads helpful.

M4a1 and I have both owned all three cars you are looking at, so can probably offer a little more depth in answering (some of) your questions.

What in the world are you saying here? You aren't even deflecting well anymore... Red_Zed isn't/didn't start a fight with you. He posted this:

Their post-mortem (as always, to be taken with a grain of salt) seems to fall in line with the widespread opinion that it is an airflow issue.

They were able to melt the pads on another Z, which doesn't lend much credence to the "it was abused" theory.

Now pay attention and re-read what both you and he wrote and actually sit and think about it a second before blowing a gasket and having a brain anurism. You made the assertion that your statement was a FACT. That means it can be verified as being truthful. His reply is simply asking that you provide the verification that the Z they wrecked was abused beyond that of every other car they were testing it against.

That's it...how in the world are you missing the point?

Instead of all this run around deflection you are failing misserably at, why not actually just look it up like you said you were going to and try to provide a link to the article? It would be so much easier and probably require less effort in the end.

Here is where you said you would look it up:

That is the 19th of April mind you. It is now the 9th of May, which is going on 3 weeks worth of time...

And now you are saying you will look it up again...go ahead and color me skeptical.

Now then....thread on.

Sorry for the interuption.
The ducts can be ordered from:
Nissan Motorsports Parts
1615-223-3335
The carbon ducts are made to fit the Nismo nose.
Same ducts found on the NISMO RC 370Z.
Just trying to help.

I think this was mentioned on page 1, but Stillen has a brake ducting system as well.

They claim a 25% reduction in temps.

STILLEN : STILLEN 370Z Brake Cooling Kit

two different things, kind of. You need the nissan motorsports ducts, along with the stillen cooling kit for the stillen bumper car to make a kit for the nismo. Or you can make your own, the Nismo ducts are just the ducts that fix into the front bumper

Thanks, I did not want to intercede in this little spat going on here...I'm going to the Grand Am race this weekend in New Jersey, I'll see if I can talk to the guys running the Z's and take some pics.

We aren't there.... well w the Z anyway. The team is there running a DP... but the RC will be back starting at Mid Ohio. Lookout of major updates to the Z's suspension and engine program....mainly new Bosch engine mng system.

We have fabricated our own backing plates and are looking into putting them into production. There is a lot of time / fabrication that goes into them....but we are looking at some options on it.
