Once you get a good feel for the car and become more confident in your abilities you can start evaluating what you would like to do with the car to make it better.
I have a motorcycle helmet (Does that work? It's a really nice one?) And I'm taking driving classes.

I don't think they'll let you use a motorcycle helmet, but you can rent racing helmets at most tracks, I believe.
