To keep it technical, the Z pulls a max. of about .35G in a straight line at its peak in 1st gear, less than .3G in 4th gear accelerating. Meanwhile, the car can hit around 1G braking and cornering. I am sure some will argue that you are not getting the most out of your vehicle. Whatever rocks your boat man.

Bracket racing. Just take a slow car with a CVT, you will do well. Whoopi

As must guys said drag racing its not that popular in the Z community. My car I'm sure is capable of a sub 13 second run but the best I could pull off was a 13.9. Mind u it was. 100+ degrees and it was my first time down the quarter ever I just didn't find much fun in it. Would rather take her on a twisty road like she was made for.

I run mine for the sport of it and to have fun. It ran 13.201 bone stock. ( from the dealers lot).
It now screams down the track @ 12.42 @ 114.37 , 7 AT.
J naut goes 12.24 @ 114.4 same mods as mine but he is a 6 MT
My car runs 12.51 to 12.59 on a bad day.
The 1/8 , mile times are quick 8.01 @ 89.8.
There is more in the car but its going to be SC over the winter.
with a few more mods.
11.??
You will have to come up to toronto motor sports park in canada to see the z cars run.

I've read all your posts. You are a drag racer! I just can't keep up with all the changes you're making
Looks to me like only people that know how to drive, enjoy this sport
Just look at all that have 330-340+ H.P. who can't break 14 seconds.
That's enough H.P. to break 12 seconds. I made 280 on one dyno & on a known generous dyno, I made 290. What times I, or Mike above could do with 339whp. Not bragging as much as just dreaming.......

There also a lot of folks who know that drag racing your vehicle will beat the snot out of it and cost you a lot of money in repairs. There are also a lot of folks who drag their cars not to break 13's but also just to have some fun.

The Z is a road car. And a good one. I'd put my road racing experience against you on a road course any day of the week. You can go in a straight line for 1/4 mile with very good times. I know how to drive.

If I may also add? You must not FORGET that the 370 is a NEW car and 80% may not want beat the crap out of a Brand New car still under warranty.

I used to Drag my V8 70 240z at Pomona Yeeeeeears ago but thats another story

That's the reason I shifted very very early when I ran 13.0.. No need to kill the car just to run in the 12's, as 12's isn't really all the fast.

I probably couldn't do much better than him...I'm not much of a drag racer. My car makes ~265ish whp.

I wonder what my Nismo that puts down 310 WHP and weighs 3050 lbs on 315 Hoosier A6s would do? I have never drag raced but I suspect my car could do sub 13.

OP, It's just a numbers game. Far more mustang owners drag race thier cars than 350/370z owners. If they do, they either just do it for fun on ocassion or are really serious about. Also depends a lot on the track conditions, weather, temperature and most importantly the driver. Mechanically, you're right, "332 and 350hp" should be enough to run in the 12's under the right circumstances. Personally it seems like you're coming off as someone who's just here to troll the forum, but I'll give you the benifit of the doubt. You already seem to know the answer to your own question though.
