Warming up radials?

For those of you who have drag radials, do you warm them up prior to your run?

I have the ET streets II and thu call for little to no burnout. Just wondering for those who do have them what pressures are you guys running? MT site calls for them to be at 12-16 psi. What pressures are you guys running and are you warming them up?


Another noob question is how do you guys warm (stand burn) your tires on the Z at the track? With fwd it's easy. Pull handbrake and go at it. With older vehicles just drop clutch then press the brakes lightly while pressing the gas. When this is done with the z it seems as if the rear breaks are being utilized too at the same time, stopping your burnout. Please chime in.

Well any RWD car you do a standing burnout with is going to use the rear brakes a little, the problem with the 370 is it has that brake override crap that wont allow you to hit the gas hard while hitting the brakes. Use the search and you will find several threads on how to fix this problem etc.

gotta pull the brake fuse to do a burnout..

i have the same tires and will be going wednesday... Im not sure I will run them as low as 12-16 PSI though... Ill prob run 20-24 psi to start and see how they feel

23 to 28 psig in the rear tires
i burm out in 3 rd gear at 6000 to 7000 rpm for 10 sec.
( 7 AT).

23-28? I wonder why the MT site calls for the pressures I stated above... I guess I'll try those pressures but after a run the pressures just go up because of heat..

It deepend on how well the track is prepaired and how muck RWHP you have. I have 309 rwhp and ar 34 psig in drive i can punch it on the street and it will not spin the tires
at the track when i launch at 2200 rpm if io have no heat in the tires they spin . but at 28 lb they do not. depends on the conditions, the higher the pisg with no wheel spin the faster i go down the track.
Now when i get the stage 2 GTM i may have to take them down to 15 psig. But i will have 500 rwhp. will post results when i get the SC

Just had a drag night here and I followed your guy's tip about the fuse and I was able to finally get good standing burnouts and warm the tires up.

I was gonna do the line lock but why do it when all you need to do is remember to pull this when your at the track. I love it
