I think the biggest problem is all the 1 series are front wheel drive.

Yeah and it doesn't help that they have a live axle front wheel drive design with an open differential.

But it really doesn't make sense to use a mid-engine design with fwd. Only the germans would think to do something like that.

I thought it stood for Wankers?

Anyways, I just don't understand why anyone would still use leaf springs in something that is sold as a pure, stripped down sports car.

I agree, especially considering how everyone is so eco friendly these days.

You can't beat the performance, though. Plus they look so pretty in the fall.

True. It would be nice if they didn't use such an inefficient supercharger from the factory though. Or if they didn't rust out everytime they were caught in a spring rain.

Well I heard they were going to add a supercharger to the exhaust for better flow. That should help with the intake supercharger. And a coating of rustoleum clear will go a long way.

I heard they were going Direct Injection to deal with the rusting issues. It derustifies pretty efficiently
