Learned alot about the little 3.7 and the car. Biggest lessons are: 1. Air intake temp - lower is better, over 100F ? don't run it. 2. Oil temp - mine likes to stage at 160F. More is bad. 3. Weight - need to be at 3470 lbs or lighter w/driver. 5 gal of fuel max. Empty trunk. 4. Rear Wheel/tire rotating weight. Use a 285 drag radial, and buy the lightest rear wheel you can afford. This is critical. 5. Front tire/wheels - mine are 37lbs each. Factory sport wheel are 50 plus. Nismo wheels are even heavier! 6. Fuel - tried all kinds of racing fuel and blends. Pure 91 octane gas from Conoco has worked best. 95,100,105 oct all slowed it down. 7. Weather - density altitude of 2500 ft or less - or I dont leave the house. 8. Disable the yaw sensor and pull the brake fuse. Do a proper burnout. 9. Staging RPM is critical, get it right and it should 60 foot 2.0 - 2.05 repeatedly. 10. My car makes only 270whp and 225 torque and runs 13.30-13.40 with no tune and a 250lb driver! Last edited by SG4247; 10-23-2017 at 11:32 AM. |
