you'll laugh when they show you the speakers that come out of your car. In one of my albums, I have pictures from when I was trying to sell it. LOL.

I just had a system installed in my Nismo last week. I went to Custom Car Sounds (I think that is the name) over on I-10 and Kirkwood. The installers there are good and I stayed all day while they worked on my car. They had the entire interior pulled out. Kind of scary but they did a great job.

I didn't want the nav so I opted for the Pioneer P3400BH which has everything but nav. Like Jenny said, the factory speakers are a joke. I don't think you could pick up a paper clip with the magnets on them.

I went with Alpine component speakers for the doors and upper tweets. We tried to retro fit something for the rear but couldn't get anything to work because of the contours of the rear panels. I didn't want any speakers showing. I also got a Memphis Audio amp for power and they mounted it behind my drivers side seat. Along with that, I had a rear camera installed with sensors that all mount inside the license plate frame, and the image shows on the radio screen.

Last, I manufactured a mount for my 10" Sub in the rear that goes under the carpet and in the spare tire area (with the spare still in place) For the type of music I listen to (rock) it sounds great!

Actually one more last thing. I had them put some LED clusters behind the reflectors in the doors so when they open, they light up.

I got a backup camera too - now I want one on the front end. ;)
I agree about being scary when they pulled all the interior out.. I couldnt watch.

The infinity 3.5 kappas fit behind the rear covers with a little plastic removal behind the panel.

I can do the LEDs in the car any color. Doors switch, ignition, cluster, AC, triple cluster.

I did my 370 sport in blue, but I am thinking of doing the NISMO in red. Orange is so drab.

Did the full interior in red. Thought it would be cool with the black car..... Love it!

Good to know about the infinity speakers for the rear. Something I may add later but im pretty satisfied with sound so far.

I want to install a garmin GPS on the chubby and replace the stock radio with my alpine deck. I also got a pair of speakers & 2 tweeters from my old build (celica RIP) that I took out when I got rid of it. Still working and an alpine amp & kickers subs. Just wondering how much it'll cost for them to have it all mounted on the car. Do they have a phone number or website I can contact them? Thanks in advance.

Also JennyT any chance your car has been at Baker Nissan since last Friday? When I picked my car up one of them said they also had a white nismo in the back.

They are very good at custom work. I would have to think that the biggest concern with any install would be the capability of the installer him or herself. I would go talk to them and talk to the installer.
The 370 cars are very straight forward with the interior panel removal to run wires etc. Other than that, if you like what you hear from the installers and you feel confident I would go for it.

If your car is brand new I would suggest (no matter where you go) to have them look out for the paint. They tend to drape wire and extension cords on the car which can scratch paint. Since mine is new and I am pretty anal about it, I made sure that they were aware that I wanted my paint taken care of.

Today, here at Camp Taji Fire Dept. we held a memorial and than went to the gym for the Fire Fighter stair climb. For those that don't know about the Fire Fighter stair climb, it was last reported that FDNY made it to the 110th floor before the towers started collapsing. So every anniversary Fire Dept around the world climb 110 floor in full bunker gear as a tribute to the brothers and sisters, 343, we lost on this date.

You had work done over there? Me and cousin did the sound install in my old celica but it was a lot of error so it took a while, plus he lives in Hawaii do I'm

Cj sounds used to be one of the best in town when Mr poff was still around.when he passed Jimmy and Johnny didn't do that great and eventually sold it. Now there are multiple locations. I guess the new owners are ok but I wouldn't trust them with my z. Try executive on hilcroft.

Anybody know who does good wheel repair any where in Houston? A place that can color match the stock sport Rays? I got a small chip in one.

Not sure, try googling some Houston spots. I know I have seen them around here before.

Heard good things about SAABs near 59. Went there to get a quote once but never had work done. They do intense stuff like fixing crumpled rims and welds. If you just have a chip as in paint chip, Baker Nissan has a guy they can call who goes out there to fix road rashes and blemishes. Call Paul Morgan for that, he fixed JB's road rashed wheel right before a car show last year.

welcome chase, we have a tuesday night meet every week but we dont always bring our z's for those. best bet is to keep an eye here in this section for all events coming up. dansracing is trying to get a katy coffee event off the gound in a week or so. and also look forward to coffee and cars at vintage park on the first saturday of every month and the woodlands coffee and cars on the first sunday of every month.

Depends on what you want.
Many places can do it for 100-150 dollars for basic tint, but now there is ceramic tint which is a bit more costly.

Mainly because I had friends who had gone to them and had good experience. I believe they offer a lifetime warranty if you own the car. They are also very good about fixing problems. My driver side was peeling in the corner, they ripped the whole window off and applied new material, no problems since.
