How low do those Injen intakes go? I thought they stayed inside the engine compartment, and mostly protected from rain splash by the car's front undertray. Seems odd that would be the cause. Did the car splash through large puddles or something? Maybe it could be some wet-wiring problem too?

The way that they hang down, even with just water dripping through the engine bay running down the pipes to the filter, eventually get to them and soak in. And even not just that, but rain = water vapor which will permeate the dry material of the filter. Just remember Rain = Humidity.

Doh. Maybe find some replacement oiled filters if it's just the vapor/humidity. But if the design just happens to work out that water is channeling right down the pipes and soaking the filters, that sucks.

Thats why you see a lot of people who originally got the injens selling them or going back to stock.

Hey, you guys should try taking the old Highway 75 instead of 45. It runs mostly parallel to I45 and starts in Conroe but I usually get on just past the prison (I think that's Huntsville) and ends up north in Streetman. It adds about 30-45 minutes to your drive but is infinitely more fun. 2 lane road with lots of hills and turns, and limited cops (only near the towns). Huntsville to Madisonville has the nicest road with the most twists. Madisonville to Streetman is an older road with more hills.

I take it whenever I drive down to Houston to visit my brother and highly recommend it.

I was going to look at it, but with us still leaving at 11AM, people need sleep apparently, and the show starting at 4 instead of 5 it pushed any 'extra' time we had out. Might consider it for the right back or next time.

Other issue now is we have other forums tagging along now and I have no way to contact them. Next time I will plan a long route through some fun roads.
