Its to tough to lose at home, but thankfully, we have a chance to redeem ourselves at the second leg. Bayern did it to United last season at Old Trafford, and Inter did it to Bayern in Munich this season. Hard to win at the Theatre of Dreams, but not impossible.

Dear Carlotti,
Leave the 50 mil flop on the bench next time eh? Liverpool laughing all the way to the bank...:shakes head:

phelan 04-06-2011 06:10 PM

Uh oh, Jon called his team's 50 mil signing a flop. Run for the hills! :rofl2:

I was way off on my goal predictions today I guess. 1-0 to manure, since Chelsea had no rhythm at all, and took off their most dangerous asset.

5-1, wow everybody from Catalunya had fun...even Xavi tossed one in WTF

blue660r01 04-06-2011 11:01 PM

All I gotta say is Schalke OWNED Inter :rofl2:

Jon@AAMComp 04-07-2011 08:52 AM

I always felt the Torres signing was ill-advised. He WAS a great player yes, but 50 million is a huge sum to pay for a player whos been in decline. The goal drought has lasted too long, and I can speak for all Chelsea supporters when I say we're getting very restless.

I watched the re-air of the CL match and it was a lot closer than I thought. Van der Saar made some excellent saves to keep us out, and we probably should have been awarded a penalty when Ramires was brought down in stoppage time. Whats done is done though, hopefully we can go to Old Trafford and get a good result. Victory would be sweeter if we sent United on their way on their home ground.

Inter's defense looked like shite, I also watched this match in it's entirety. The goals they let in were so soft, Leonardo must have felt sick watching this after losing the derby to Milan. It will take something very miraculous for them to retain the title.

igotcabada 04-07-2011 09:53 AM

wow chelsea got hosed yesterday, thats a penalty on ramires 10 times out of 10!

cow 04-07-2011 10:00 AM

Unless the call would go against MU.

phelan 04-07-2011 10:26 AM

Ferguson'd!

and van der Sar, as old and feeble as he looks, is still one of the best keepers in the world. Will be a great loss for everybody when he retires at the end of this season.

Joey Barton = delusional. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...ielder?cc=5901

cow 04-07-2011 10:52 AM

I read that last night & lol'd a lot.

AFC should be expecting an Adebayor-wayward shot-related suit any day now.

Every time I see McEachran, I have the Peter Griffin on James Carville response.

I wanted to watch but we were having people over so I had to go man the grill (hard life). A friend texted me later asking why John Harkes was so critical of Henry. What happened?

They got into the whole debate about how the MLS is a grazing field for aging players like Henry, and they kept questioning if he's really here to help the team or to earn a paycheck and enjoy the United States. Other than that didn't really hear too much as my volume was pretty low. Henry just looks like he's a step slow (which he should be given how much mileage he has haha). You can see the Arsenal blood in him when he plays the little one-twos with the rest of his team, but they never really worked out. Looked like he suffered a back injury early in the 2nd half as well that limited him.

Red Bulls' defense was SHOCKING to give Philly the 1-0 win. Simple pass to change the side of play, and Tim Ream skips it on the ground RIGHT TO A PHILLY PLAYER. 2-1 against the goalie, into the net, game over. I was beside myself. I know the MLS is nowhere near the EPL, but people get crucified for sh*t like that in SUNDAY LEAGUES.

cow 04-12-2011 09:30 AM

So I start a new job next week & will be staying in a hotel. Is there any way for me to watch the Arsenal vs Spuds match online later in the day? I know foxsoccer.com carries the matches for a subscription, but do they archive them?

on every match day, thegunninghawk.com has links on the front page to all the online sources broadcasting the matches for free, whenever I cant get it on tv, i'll go there, although some of the feeds are shitty, occasionally you'll find a solid one. Give that a shot.

Jon@AAMComp 04-12-2011 03:57 PM

Dude fml. Of all the teams it had to be United. Our midfield looked like absolute shite today. Once again Fernando Torres failing to find the back of the net. Our only goal came from Drogz off the bench which makes me question what the f Ancelotti was thinking starting Torres over him. Why John Obi Mikel and Benayoun didn't start, I'll never know. Hate to say it, but I think its time to part ways with Essien, Malouda and Anelka. The effectiveness of Lamps in midfield is waning as well. It's a tough one to swallow, but we lost to the better team, simple as that. The rebuilding phase has been a long time coming, and this latest defeat shows me that we cannot win the Champions league with this current squad.

Adidas also leaked some new home kit pics:

I hate Adidas. This kit simply looks like the blue version of our white 3rd kit from 2 seasons ago.

Inter's new kit has been released as well:

^ The away shirt is hot. Much improved over the horrific Chinese dragon tattoo on the current away shirt.

I probably won't be able to watch a stream since Im starting a new gig & will still care whether I look like I care three days in. Do you know where I could watch an archived stream of the match? I'll be recording it for when I'm home (I'll be in a hotel until Friday) & would have to go into complete lockdown (including not checking this site) to not find out the score.

cow 04-12-2011 07:22 PM

I hate the white shoulders on that Chelsea kit. The horizontal stripes are cool though.

blue660r01 04-12-2011 09:00 PM

ADIDAS ftw don't hate

cow 04-12-2011 09:38 PM

I'm partial to Nike post-2006. Prior to that, adidas kits fit awesome & Nike's were odd, but around that time they managed to flip flop & the adidas ones became odd-fitting & Nike's got super nice.

The France Nike strip fits so much better than the outgoing adidas one.

phelan 04-13-2011 11:46 AM

oooh, digging the new inter away kit.

unless they hid the ed hardy dragon on the back :rofl2:

Jon@AAMComp 04-13-2011 03:39 PM

I hope so too. Victory laurels under the Arsenal badge, what is that?

phelan 04-13-2011 04:04 PM

well they need to do SOMETHING for our 125th anniversary, but these look awful.

spurs - how about that goalkeeping?

LOVE how arsenal gets shtick all day long about our keepers. szczesny is better than gomes and yet...

blue660r01 04-13-2011 05:15 PM

LOL @ Inter

cow 04-14-2011 12:14 AM

1) I really like that Arsenal away kit phelan posted.
2) Schalke 04 are a blast to watch. They're this year's perfect example why I love the Champions League. I hope they decimate MU.

phelan 04-14-2011 12:44 AM

1) away kit is eh, home kit is ughhhhh
2) bundesliga is a blast to watch period.

cow 04-14-2011 09:54 AM

I love the pinstripes. The sleeves look like gauze, though.

I hope at least one of next year's kits has a collar.
