Bent - Defoe - Rodallega (No sub)
Arteta - Fábregas - Milner - Kranjcar (Dorrans)
Dunne - Huth - Jagielka (Insua/Samba)
van der Sar (Hahnemann)

Assuming Milner doesn't move to MC.

Cesc Fabregas tells Arsene Wenger he wants to stay at Arsenal - report - Goal.com

blue660r01 08-05-2010 07:13 PM

goal.com is all bs articles fyi haha

phelan 08-05-2010 07:16 PM

cesc at least trained w/ the squad, and didn't spend media day crying to wenger how much he wants to go to barca.

not like he ever did..or at least, there's no proof he actually did. lol

about transfers, yes, however, the fact that he and AW met today and there isnt a "Fabregas wants to go home" page posted anywhere, I'd say the meeting was a success.

Arsenal Miss Out on Three Targets and Cesc Fabregas Returns To the Club | Bleacher Report

...we're pretty f*cked, defensively. Wenger NEEDS to reward not only the fans, but FABREGAS HIMSELF by showing the coffers opened up for quality defenders. I agree with some of the comments on this article, we are still being stingy with the cash. I know we don't want to overspend (hellooooo Man City), but at the same time, our needs are so dire, especially in goal, that we may need to invest that little extra.

i do love this video though.

Cesc Fabregas: I will stay at Arsenal this season - Barclays Premier League - ESPN Soccernet

*chants*

We've got Cesc Fabregas!

cow 08-06-2010 09:14 AM

Cool. Hopefully he has a great season, wins a trophy (or three), & has his worth driven up to 60mil.

Red370 08-06-2010 12:07 PM

hes gone next season 100%, however, like Cow said, hopefully the Gunners will add some silverware to the case this season and drive his price to astronomical levels so we can add an even replacement, GOURCUFF. So far Gourcuff is the only midfielder I see in the world today that can play the Arsenal way, Xavi is a great passer of the ball and holds possession well, but he cant score to save his life (doesnt have the will to). CR, while great all around, is very selfish and would seize the moment to score himself, rather than set up an open teammate, the Arsenal way is selfless service, put the better man through. Yoann can score, hes fleet of foot, and an excellent decision maker, so i'm f'in pumped that Cesc is staying, but we need to plan for the future AW and get in position to make a play next season. If our players can stay healthy, particularly RvP and Cesc, this season should be a shoe in for the championship.

phelan 08-06-2010 12:33 PM

I know, I hate Puyol for saying it, but Fabregas is literally 'on loan' this season.

RvP should be back and hungry for silverware after coming so close with the KNVB, Cesc knows the glory and professional that he is will work as hard as ever to bring one to Arsenal. Vermaelen is steadily turning into the leader we've needed in the defense for a while. WE JUST NEED A GODDAMN GOALKEEPER.

I hope Arsenal make the most of Fabregas' talents this year, I'd love to see the skipper go out on a high note

cow 08-06-2010 01:09 PM

Will you guys watch the Community Shield?

Is that thing even considered a trophy? to answer your question, nope, sure wont. I hope Rooney and Drogba get season ending injuries

I'd go so far as to say that Verms as a whole, is the best defender in the EPL currently. Not just saying that because hes a Gunner, but for the simple fact that he can shoot, head, and the dude is a effin brick wall, NOBODY beats the guy one on one, I watched every game last year and never seen him get turned once. That being said, he goes into challenges VERY hard, hes clanked heads quite a bit and it makes me nervous that he might go too hard one of these games and get a season ending knock :( I'm hoping Koscielny can step up and be the bargain buy that AW seems to bring in year after year.

Imagine, with a fit Clichy, Verms, (hopefully outstanding Koscielny), and the Bakery? Best defensive line in the league. Now if we could get a strong world class keeper in the back and another solid defensive midfielder, Arsenal will be very difficult to stop.

cow 08-06-2010 01:59 PM

I'm on the fence as to whether I prefer Gibbs or Clichy.

I watched a few games when Gibbs played last season, hes very "Clichy-esque" in his attributes (speed, ball control), but in those games I watched, he marked very poorly on set pieces and even was the culprit on a few scores against, Clichy, while not all that tall, seems to mark the larger players decently, thats the only reason I give him the nod. Gibbs is definitely going to be the future #1 at left back for the Gunners though.

cow 08-06-2010 02:23 PM

I like Clichy more because he's French. Seriously.

phelan 08-06-2010 05:35 PM

Clichy when he feels like it. He coasted last year.

LOL I still wouldn't call our defensive line strong. And I'm still going to burn something if we don't get a goalkeeper.

Come here Akinfeev! We have cookies! :roflpuke2:

cow 08-07-2010 08:53 AM

I met a self-proclaimed Chelsea fan last night who told me he hates City for trying to buy a championship.

I lol'd.

Red370 08-07-2010 11:12 AM

LOL, Fabianski let in 3 goals in the first half against Legia Warsaw, the kid is shyt, probably AW's worst signing that I've witnessed in the 15 years i've been a fan. AW has the reserves lined up against LW's first team, and they're getting their arses handed to em, thank god this is a friendly.

Red370 08-07-2010 11:16 AM

Szczesny just made two outstanding point blank saves, looks like Failianski will be sitting in the #3 spot this season.

Red370 08-07-2010 11:18 AM

Eboue pulled one back with a diving header, 3-2 Legia.

Red370 08-07-2010 11:22 AM

Verms just saved a sure goal with the tackle of a lifetime, my god this guy is good.

Red370 08-07-2010 11:26 AM

goddamn, Eboue with a rocket shot to tie the game at 3, two goals within 7 minutes, wow.

Red370 08-07-2010 11:27 AM

holy shyt, Gibbs with a rifle shot to put Arsenal ahead 4-3, how the eff do you go from being down 1-3 to winning 4-3 in 15 minutes? wow, yall gotta watch this shyt.

lotsa goals man, they might be posted on arsenalist.com shortly,

Chamakh scored with a great header, Eboue with 2, Nasri had one, Jay Emmanuel Thomas had one and Gibbs with a laser shot. Awesome game to watch if you love goals.

Red370 08-07-2010 12:17 PM

yep, go to Arsenalist - Arsenal Video & Highlights they're uploading the goal videos as we speak, Fabianski was absolute garbage, I hope for the gunners sake, that AW offloads him in the January transfer window.

phelan 08-07-2010 01:24 PM

wenger needs a goalkeeper! we've been screaming that all summer long!!!

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...europe&cc=5901

wtf barca thought 30 mil for cesc was common sense. ......................:wtf:

cow 08-07-2010 02:50 PM

Maybe they'll sign Ozil & we'll be able to keep Cesc.
