wednesday night? odd

isn't it usually a thursday?

b1adesofcha0s 02-28-2012 05:23 PM

Yeah apparently they changed it so it wouldn't conflict with Obama's speech at the DNC, which is on the Thursday of that week. Apparently it's the first Wednesday game since 1948!

Nismo89 02-28-2012 05:23 PM

really hoping the ravens can make it happen next season, im pulling for Ed Reed to get that ring...

I think the Ravens and Patriots might be in the same position they were in this previous season and hopefully with the same result :D

:trolldance:

Ravens and Patriots are playing in Baltimore next season, perfect game to go see my first live sporting event. I will be there for sure.

Having never been to a football game before, which seats are the optimal ones? Not talking about any luxury skybox crap or whatever, but something more affordable. It's probably the only game I'll go to in a while so I want to get good seats but not too expensive. Going to get one for me and one for my cousin as a bday present since he is a diehard Ravens fan.

There are really no bad seats in M&T Bank Stadium, from a view perspective. Generally, 50-yard-line seats are pricier, and the lower seats are pricier, as you have a better view of the entire game, but we usually grab seats in the corner of an end zone, as you get to see scoring plays up close, and the jumbotrons in the stadium make up for a lot of what you miss at the other side of the field. I hope that you guys have a great time (and that Baltimore wins).

Yeah I'll look into it more once they actually go on sale. I'm afraid to wear any Patriots gear at the risk of getting shot in Baltimore :icon17:

There are divided schools of thought on that. If you wear pats stuff and sit near Baltimoreans who are full of "liquid courage", you'll get harassed during the game. It could be friendly ribbing, it could be worse.

I feel like you should be able to root for your team and wear their colors, as long as you're being nice to the people around you. I've met a lot of people at local sporting events who were cool people in the other team's jersey.

Just as long as you don't wear a Steelers jersey into M&T, because f*ck them. :roflpuke2:

Nismo89 02-28-2012 06:39 PM

i went to 2 games last year.... first was Ravens-Bengals with FIrst place in the division on the line and the next was Ravens-49ers, Historical matchup brother vs brother. i was heart broken man when they didnt review that pass to Evans in the Endzone in the playoffs.... i want Reed to get One ring, to make his NFL venture worth while.. and add to his already impressive Hall of Fame Resume'....especially since Ed's been teetering with retirement for the past 4-5 years....

Luckily for me my cousin is a black belt. Only Pats gear I have is my AFC championship shirt. The new Nike NFL jerseys are supposed to come out later this year so I will probably pick up one of those.

eastwest2300 03-04-2012 09:41 PM

Blades, forget that Jersey, pick up a Dolphins jersey, then you'll be a winner, and you wont be trolling...

I would not wear pats gear in bmore.

Like most teams, most of the fans are cool, but the risk isn't worth it. There are enough loose cannons there that it is too much of a risk.

Worst that happened to me at a skins game was a full beer dumped on my head. I got cold-clocked in Baltimore.

I'll probably just wear it in the car on the way back if we win. :icon17:

NFL news for the day:

-Peyton Manning is getting cut from the Colts. Kind of expected by now, but now it's (almost) official. Where do you think he will go? I'm thinking either the Dolphins, Redskins, or the Cardinals. I think the Dolphins will take Flynn though.

-Seems like Randy Moss' workout for the Saints went well. He could be a dangerous combo with Brees at QB.

Thechidz 03-06-2012 09:16 PM

I expect the packers to play like they have something to prove. With some healthy d-lineman and ANY kind of a pass rush watch-the-fuk-out

b1adesofcha0s 03-08-2012 09:50 PM

Another reason I would love to have Mario Williams come to the Patriots, he has an awesome taste in cars :D

b1adesofcha0s 03-09-2012 02:14 PM

It looks like Peyton Manning is visiting Denver, Arizona, and Miami :stirthepot:

Supposedly he wants to make a decision by Tuesday.

In other NFL news, it looks like the Giants are releasing Brandon Jacobs.

eastwest2300 03-12-2012 02:01 AM

Manning, is going to the Dophins.

dennis26 03-12-2012 08:05 PM

The Colts screwed up. They should have traded off the number 1 pick. Just think of what they could have gotten. For a QB they could go after Flynn from Green Bay.

No he just wants him to go there because he's a Dolphins fan. He's supposed to be meeting with the Dolphins coach tomorrow I think and then with the Titans on Wednesday.

I hope he goes to the Dolphins. I would LOVE to see Manning vs Brady twice each year. It would actually make the Patriots vs Dolphins games interesting for once :icon17: :stirthepot:

b1adesofcha0s 03-13-2012 04:56 PM

Time for some free agency fun, yay!

-Bears trade 2 3rd round picks (2012 + 2012) to Dolphins for Brandon Marshall. If Miami doesn't land Peyton Manning, then they are screwed IMO. They gave away their top receiver for 2 3rd round picks. Assuming this is a move to make room for Manning and Reggie Wayne they will be ok. If they fail to land either then they are screwed for sure.

-Pierre Garcon signing with the Redskins. Will probably be good for RG3.

-Seems like Tampa Bay is the current leader in trying to sign Vincent Jackson. Same with the Bills and Mario Williams.

Red__Zed 03-14-2012 12:00 PM

Royals to skins is nuts. Washington is the official home of short WRs

I hear manning is down to Denver or Tennessee

kielbasa16 03-14-2012 12:03 PM

I was surprised to see so many of the big names sign so quickly. Free agent market is getting thin quickly. What are the big names left? Manning, Mario Williams, and Flynn.

b1adesofcha0s 03-16-2012 09:22 AM

Mario Williams to the Bills, this good get interesting for the AFC East.

So Miami is out of the Manning race, which means they're pretty much screwed unless they can land another #1 receiver. Seems like it's down to Denver and Tennessee for Manning and the Broncos are meeting with him again today.

Brandon Lloyd to the Patriots! :happydance:

That's a good acquisition by them.

lol I'm sure you've heard, but for those of you who don't live in our area, you should hear Ravens fans freaking out over free agency. The Blackbirds are losing some talent and depth. JJ and Grubbs probably hurt the worst. But Ozzie builds through the draft and picking up players on their way out during preseason cuts. It's just hilarious to hear Ravens fans (like me) completely lose it on local radio, like it's the end of the world.

kinda like giants fans last offseason between all the signings the eagles made and losing steve smith to them. i guess it worked out pretty well for us in the end. :icon17:

That defense tightened up considerably during their playoff run. Maybe they don't need to improve by much.

b1adesofcha0s 03-18-2012 10:35 PM

Matt Flynn is going to the Seahawks. I don't know wtf the Dolphins are doing, they are 0/3 this off-season. Now they need a QB and a #1 receiver.

Yeah they just need to be more consistent. Injuries caused a lot of the problems we had on defense and we got a bunch of players back for the playoffs.
