2012 NFL Thread

Now that the Super Bowl is over (:() it's time to begin looking forward to the 2012 season. I for one can not wait and hope the Patriots finally win the Super Bowl next year.

Looks like Randy Moss is making his comeback for the 2012 season. I hope he comes to the Patriots and gives us that deep threat receiver that we so desperately need. Another possibility I've heard is Brandon Lloyd coming to New England because of his familiarity with Josh McDaniels. Reggie Wayne may also be interested if the Colts don't keep him. With 4 picks in the first 2 rounds of the draft, you know at least one will be used to pick up a potentially game changing free agent for the Patriots.

Texans should do really well next season, especially if they can keep Schaub healthy. I think the divisional round of playoffs next season will be the same as this season, except switch the Broncos with the Steelers.

Eh, not sure he will be back in time.
Also, the question of where will Yates go has come up. He has proven he is ready but the Texans might not want him if Schaub is healthy.

Wouldn't this season be the perfect example of why you'd want to keep him or try to get another decent 3rd string QB? :icon17:

It is, but having two top quarterbacks is always tough on a team.
I would hate to keep him, train him and then two years he leaves and then comes a top tier.

True. Who would take him though? He did enough to get by, but folded under pressure like you'd expect a rookie QB to do. Need someone to help him develop his skills.

b1adesofcha0s 02-13-2012 07:55 PM

In that case, he might build more trade value.

Back-up a rookie QB with a sophomore QB, wonder how that will work out :p

Yeah, but it will generate more urgency to train Yates and see him develop.
I mean, I would prefer to have him stay and maybe replace Schaub in 2-3 years.

Then they still have to decide what to do with Leinart.

Also read an article suggesting the Patriots might make a run at grabbing Mario Williams if the Texans don't resign or franchise him. :icon17:

Honestly, I am fine with letting Williams go.
For what we spent and wasted on him he has not paid back. He might be a better asset to the Patriots, who need a defense. :p

Damn right we do. Maybe if we had him (in active form) during the SB we might have won :icon17:

We've got a bunch of draft picks we can use to start putting together a defense.

Blades, I know I've told you this a million times, but THE PATRIOTS ARE HORRIBLE, nobody except for you cares about the Patriots.

Go Dolphins!

One_Quick_Z 02-14-2012 06:38 AM

Daaaaaa Bearsssssss!

Hope they make a splash in FA this year again by getting Jay a WR and then pick up one in the draft.... That would get the GM off on the right foot this time and then start looking at the D.....

Coming from a team that lost to us twice this year and didn't make the playoffs, that means nothing :icon17:

Honestly I'm surprised we even made it to the Super Bowl with that defense, which happened to be the worst defense in Super Bowl history :icon17:

Williams would be a great addition for the Pats.

Yeah he would. Saw an article on Yahoo where someone was saying that the Pats should make Williams the highest paid player at his position if the Texans let him become a free agent. Would definitely help our defense in a big way.

eastwest2300 02-16-2012 09:55 PM

Hopefully the texans resign him, just soo the patriots wont get him.

tower74 02-17-2012 09:58 PM

Well we shall see if the Chiefs can finally pull something off this year, other than taking my money. Psycho coach gone...he thought they had wire tapped his office...people wearing wires:gtfo2:. Now just need a QB and a O-Line and we are set. Please take Castle back Pats!!!!

eastwest2300 02-19-2012 05:40 PM

The Dolphins MUST get rid of the GM Jeff Ireland, hes hott garbage.

hopefully the Cowboys pull their heads out of their butts and actually do something next year. Defense needs a lot of help so hopefully rob ryan will do better this year coaching them up

Cowboys seemed to do good every time except when it mattered. They're horrible in pressure situations and need to work on that.

:iagree: I don't know why it's like that this team is really soft and has no learders that step up

b1adesofcha0s 02-28-2012 03:37 PM

Looks like the 2012 season will be kicking off on a Wednesday night, September 5th, with the Giants playing against some unknown team.
