NFL replacement referee who blew touchdown call in Green Bay Packers-Seattle Seahawks game is a full-time banker - NY Daily News

The ref that blew the call had only three days of training at the Division I level. Oh, and he's a BoA banker.

shadoquad 09-26-2012 03:47 PM

NFL, referees still not close to deal; Ed Hochuli has prepped refs for immediate return - Peter King - SI.com

m4a1mustang 09-26-2012 03:51 PM

So they would let the replacements call the Thursday game but then the real ones call the Sunday/Monday games?

I don't think that's fair to the Thursday night teams if that happens.

It's the Browns-Ravens tilt, and they've been saying real refs wouldn't be available for that even if a deal was done since yesterday.

Browns win on a last second interception that the refs award 28 pts for.

daisuke149 09-26-2012 04:01 PM

dont need real refs for thursdays game. We need the replacement refs to give the game to the browns.

And then nfl refuses to admit that a 28 point interception is still not enough to overcome a 36 point deficit.

:iagree:

It was the right call and the math cannot be reviewed.

This thread has been pretty useful for the first 40 pages or so. As you can imagine with the refs making a joke of the game after the Seattle vs Green Bay call, we had to have a little fun with it. Don't believe me? Go back a couple pages and look at how much we analyzed that blown call immediately after it happened.

I'd love to hear an explanation for why Mays' hit merited a harsher punishment than Mundy's

the REAL officials are now gonna be at the games from now on...

and they are scrambling a crew in the area to be AT and officiate the Ravens-Browns game

:wtf: mang.

The hit on dhb was way more egregious, plus the hit on the TE as well.

Not saying it's right, but that's my guess at why.

When a mommy ref and a daddy ref, who love each other very much, get drunk at a hockey game, magic happens that night and... :ugh2: sorry, wrong talk.

Man, Ravens playing 4th game in 18 days and after that big game Sunday night, hope they can stay focused tonight.

Roadster4Us 09-27-2012 07:56 PM

Wow, Cribbs was crushed, glad he got up.

speedfreek 09-27-2012 08:00 PM

Lucky his helmet didnt come down and smash him in the face. I thought they were going to need the cart on that one.

Nismo89 09-27-2012 08:03 PM

Hmmm... I don't know if it was legal. He led with his elbow to the head. Still, glad to see him get up.

Nismo89 09-27-2012 09:24 PM

from what i saw of it. he led with the shoulder. but who knows.

Roadster4Us 09-27-2012 09:50 PM

Nice pick six.

Roadster4Us 09-27-2012 10:49 PM

Glad to get the win and get this game over. Games four days apart are just asking for an upset. Now some much needed rest before taking on KC.

Nismo89 09-27-2012 11:16 PM

in the words of Rich Eisen " the Ravens have played 4 games in 18 days and they've won 3 of them"

Of course the one game I put Flacco on my fantasy team is the one where he only throws 1 TD. Expected more against the Browns :shakes head:

He had a pretty damn good game, though. 350 yds or something like that? Ran for a TD, too.

daisuke149 09-28-2012 08:20 AM

damn. see the old refs woulda given that to the browns. stupid REAL Ref's!

:iagree: those replacement officials would have called the final play a TD, even though the ball sailed through the end zone six feet above anyone's head.

The Browns always play the Ravens tough, and the Ravens played a Thurs night game following a Sun night game. They weren't as well rested as the Browns. But give credit where it's due, Weeden looked pretty good, and Richardson is a big, tough runner. That team is young and will only get better.
