There is a playoff for an actual playoff spot (1 game) if needed. The tie breaker is used when the division leader and wild card are from the same division to determine the actual division champ. But both are in the playoff.

BLUF: In this case is TB and Red Sox tie a 1 fame playoff will be played for the wild card.

I was taking rules in general. So this year there will be a playoff game if TB and Red Sox tie. Had there been a tie between the yanks and sox for both the division and wild card the team that won the season would be seated as the division champs and the other would be seated as the wild card.

Well I didn't expect the Yankees to reach that far. I said it since the off season the pitching got them at the end.

Anyway great season with a lot of History on the books for the NYY for Jeter and Mariano Rivera.

Hopefully the management will get a clue now from the playoffs, they need pitching and get rid off the dead weight. Start grooming prospects like Montero and Nunez.

I will keep watching the playoffs but I'm not jumping on anyone bandwagon.

I don't think he was fired, he just made a decision without thinking on the future. On the other hand I think Girardi is the one that is going to get fired for the poor managing last night and during the entire playoffs..

Yes the Red Sox fired Tito. And the Yankees wouldn't fire G until atleast the Red Sox hire a new Manager. The Yankees wouldn't want to see "their" manager in a Red Sox uniform. But could you imagine the yanks hiring Tito and the Red Sox hiring G. LOL that would be interesting.

I want the Sox to go after Torri.
