I haven't decided on a putter yet, though I think I want one of those fat grips on it. I've never hit with one, but it seems it would help with the feel, etc.

I'll go look at putters here soon.

I think if I played a bit more and now that I'm getting my stroke down after lessons, I could be back into mid-80's. I just have to practice more to get the consistency with the irons/short game to get myself back to low-80's or even into the 70's. Man, I'm pumped to play again. I don't know why I stopped for a couple of months!
I do the same if I have both types when I'm driving and approach sometimes lol although when playing for money or a pro-am I can't do that. Typically ill do that just to see if it is the spin from a bad driver swing cutting across the face that is causing my swing. So technically I can call it research lol.

I got a Scotty Cameron black 1.5 with 2 - 15g weights in the bottom. Also it's a solid bent heel shaft. Not the step down nor a straight in design. Don't like either of those styles. Also the fatter grips do feel better but I haven't used one enough to be convinced to switch over yet. Takes a lot of the wrist movement out of the equation for me at least. Not sure how it effects others.

Sadly I shot mostly high 80s and some low 90s this summer but I didn't play barely at all this year. Did like 2 outings and maybe got out once or twice a month at best. It rained on a lot of Weekends this summer here in Pittsburgh. Ruined most of my free time for golf.

Ah. I don't bend/move my wrists at all when putting.

I almost hate golfing right now with my Dad's old clubs, I wish Xmas was tomorrow so I could have my new ones. I'm going to have to relearn distances and such, but it'll be good.

Yea when I switched to titleist ap2's last spring it took me almost all summer to get my distances down again. They added about 15 yards average. Some more some less. But I will say those irons are amazing lol

I'm slowly converting my whole bag to titleist. All I need now is driver, hybrid, and wedges. For now though my Cleveland cg14 wedges are working fine and are pretty new so those will be last. My r7 driver is next to go. Glad my buddy is sponsored by titleist and I think I'm getting some hand-me-down wedges since he just got a whole new set of 18 different clubs for his 2014 season use lol

TBH, the Titleist felt good. I really couldn't tell the difference between the TM and the Titleist, it just came down to price and the fact I've been using TM for a long time I guess.

They also had a TM rep at GolfSmith that helped me fit the club pretty well when I went to try it out.

Yea I love the feel of them over anything else I've tried. Also price wasn't a factor since I paid much less than the normal $1200 for AP2's lol so I went with what I actually wanted which was nice.

That's what I'm reading.

I may offer to go halfsies with my parents on one, since they're buying me the set for Xmas. Unless I can find a slightly used one for cheaper than $350.

I'm not that good to win a pro-am yet.

I am not even certain what I can shoot now, as we usually just play 2v2 best ball when we go out.

Picked up a bag, 3 wood, sandwedge, and the Scotty Cameron Del Mar putter last night. Ordered my 3H, 4H, 5-P, and gap wedge last night.

Bad news is that set isn't quite available with the hybrids until the 13th and won't ship until 12/24... so looks like I won't be playing with new clubs until early January.

Dude, FP, 100% right on the Scotty Cameron. I have only played 18 holes with it and I love it.

First put ever with it, 40ft, drained it.

The new clubs are awesome. Now I just need to work on my consistency. I'm so pumped to play some more!

Went last night and worked on my swing and with my fairway woods/hybrids I think I've fixed my slice. Getting a nice draw now - I just need to remember what I did when I'm out on the course.

My driver on the other hand, still gotta work on that. I tried the same technique and I couldn't quite get the same results consistently.

I don't get how they can be so different?

it's not that the swings are much different between the swings it's your brain messing with you lol it's saying it's completely different when the only big difference is the club length and ball being teed vs not teed. lie and positioning is always different for each shot so that is the other factor when on course.

trust me i ask myself the same thing a lot as well. part that makes me mad is i'll go to the range at a course, kill my driver, get to first tee, shank one right....
