Just purchased tickets to the June Sonoma NASCAR race. So between that and the F1 race in October, I will get to see two very different styles of road racing. "Slow", clunky, beating and banging and then precise, fast and nimble. Either way I think both races will be incredibly fun considering the locations...I am so excited!

Nice! I've got plans to make it to three Sprint Cup races this year. Unfortunately couldn't squeeze Austin into the schedule this year.

The Richmond night race would be in my top five as to attend. If you are looking to hang out with a fellow Z and NASCAR fan and can get some tickets, let me know and I will fly out there!

On my bucket list for F1 races: Singapore, Brazil and of course Monaco!

God LH and NR are two of the most annoying twits ever in any sport ever. Can someone...anyone please beat these guys in a race at some point????

On the other hand JJ, KH and DE Jr. are endlessly likable.

The Bahrain GP talking points | Formula 1 News | Sky Sports

Bahrain is this weekend. Alot to consider. Tires and temps might come into play again.

alcheng 04-17-2015 01:15 PM

Nico needs to step up to beat Hamilton thus he can stop whining and prove himself...

Kimi needs to be on the podium cos he really deserve one....

Mclaren needs to get into Q2 otherwise their car will not have a single sponsor logo on it...

Renault... put it this way.... Red Bull needs to understand how to deal with challenge(s).... and they can't just put whatever driver in their car and hoping to win race(s).

Practice 3 is on. Very windy today. Same link works all the time for most F1 events. Qualy could be interesting. Ferrari are actually faster on race sims yesterday in practice!~

DLSTR 04-19-2015 09:22 AM

This could be as good as Sepang, maybe better 40min to go until the start!! :) Ferrari should be able to pressure Mercedes. I wonder if Kimi can best Vettel today. Rosberg seems to have zero answer for Lewis. Night races have a cool vibe! Love it!

xxAGAVExx 04-19-2015 09:27 AM

Tire wear should be a factor and with up front so close could be a Mercedes Ferrari Ferrari podium unless Rosberg gets his act together.

I'll bet for Ferrari. Vettel seems to make his tires run longer.
Dang Hamilton is a gem of a driver possibly better than shumi was but some how I never liked him.

Hey I never liked Vettel as well until he moved to ferrari!

I guess its the car brand I like.;)

FInally the Spanish GP - F1 is back on!

Nice talking points/set up for the race. Lots going on and many teams with updates. Lets hope someone, probably Ferrari can openly and honestly challenge for the win. Will Mclaren show any new life and speed and get a point or points. Lotus has upgrades.

Does anyone happen to have a good recommendation for binoculars that are particularly good for a live spectator at races?

Also, at F1 races, is wireless connectivity for a mobile device, in Austin for the USGP something I should not expect, or may be diminished (I use AT&T). I am asking this because I was thinking about subscribing to F1 access just for that race.

JARblue 05-07-2015 03:36 PM

AT&T wireless should work fine at COTA with a disclaimer that the sheer number of people at the event can hinder performance of any network ... significantly at times.

Yep, there are a ton of curse words being exchanged in the Mercedes garage right now.

Yes but LH drove the call.....it was the team reacting to LH. He had poor situaitonal awareness about the other cars behind him and thought they would stop and be on fresh tires. 50/50 here. Poor LH. He drove it and lost his race literally.

Nice interview with SKY about this. He flat out said he called the team and discussed it.

didn't watch the whole race but i thought it's 99% lewis'...

omg..... :icon14::icon14:

I am wondering why the team didn't inform him about Nico wasn't going to pit??

Over confidence and a poor communication chain at the WRONG time. Situational awareness anyone???

JARblue 05-24-2015 06:59 PM

Maybe Mercedes just wanted the championship race to get a little more interesting? :icon14: I was honestly impressed by how both LH and NR handled themselves after the race. Glad to see there was no whining or bickering this time (at least on camera).

Also, very disappointing move by Max on that pathetic attempt to pass Grojean. That's the first time I've really felt like he showed his age. He was running so well the whole weekend up to that point. I guess he was just trying for that point. He got too impatient and aggressive, although I can imagine running that shitty Renault engine has got to be frustrating. Interesting that it was the cause of the whole Mercedes debacle.

or the team cannot disclose too much information via radio otherwise it can breach the rule??

but still, hamilton said he thought both rosberg and vettel has pitted... weird....

he did a same move earlier in the race thus i bet he thought it will be the same thing when passing grojean....

riccardo too, his odd move on raikkonen, and no penalty?? :wtf: is going in those stewards' mind?? basically riccardo just sneak his LF wheel into the ferrari and poke it then took the spot.... weird... weird.....
