I setup my DVR to record the race and I get coverage of the f**king Tour de France!!! Twice!!!

Now that I know who won, yes; this is probably the only race worth watching in more than a year.

Well the race is supposedly going to replayed tonight, so hopefully it isn't actually a replay of men in Lycra racing their little boy bikes.

So no one has played the new F1 2015 game? After just a couple of hours I pretty much know every corner of the Hungaroring from the driver's point of view AND as a bonus I beat Lewis Hamilton/Nico Rosberg Mercedes AMG as Seb Vettel a Ferrari driver. Onto the Spa-Francorchamps...it looks fun!

BlackZeda 07-28-2015 07:55 AM

YES! Give me more of that!

Give me more of:

- David Hobbs and Steve Matchett calling Lewis Hamilton out for being a diva beotch (I paraphrase, but one of them said quit bitching and drive)

- LH and NR imploding under the pressure

- I finally watched the podium celebration because of the absence of beforementioned Mercedes Divas

- Ferrari victory!

Unfortunately there aren't a lot of tracks like Hungaroring that are more curvy and less straight where Mercdes straight-line speed is an advantage.

Daniil Kvyat didn't take too kindly to team orders...good for him and congratulations on 2nd place.

Almost race time. Glad to see it mixed up. If Vettel gets off a good start this will be fantastic!

Good race, was hoping for a little more excitement in top 5 other than Hamilton of course. What's up with the guy just casually walking on the track

yes, hamilton has the inside line, he has a better start than rosberg, but how he push rosberg to the grass @ turn-2 is ridiculous!

you make a pass but you have to give others room too, that's respect and driving ethics.

dirty winner.

+1 on that. Nico needs to up the aggression a bit and keep his F1 life alive. He is becoming forgetful.

i have a feeling mercedes is playing priority role within the team now.

especially with niki lauda always bias to hamilton.

don't know why but i used to like this team when they were underdog with schumacher... but now... i am starting to dislike them... remember couple races ago they put out that fake pit stop? silverstone? and @ Spa(?) when they were kinda tricky on tire pressure...

no good no good....

DLSTR 10-11-2015 05:35 AM

Russia - Nico on pole today

Can he hang on at the start on that long run to turn 1?? Should be a decent race. LH not happy with his set up today and has been slower in prac and qualy.

You may dislike them because Hamilton is the #1 prima donna douchebag on Earth followed closely by "Nico". What a horribly boring "race". Nothing matters now since MB is impossible to beat, so what is the point? That is coming from a guy that will be in Austin to be disappointed live in two weeks from the stands.

A few years ago NASCAR realized that their championship determination was boring and stupid, and they changed it so now it is interesting. Maybe Eccelstone will get hit by lightning or drop dead so something similar will happen with F1. The handshake with Putin made me cringe....

m4a1mustang 10-13-2015 09:00 AM

NASCAR's championship is a farce now. You can literally win the first 35 races, finish 2nd in the 36th and final race, and lose the championship to someone that finished 10th in every race but won the final race. It's a ******* farce.

Motorsport is not like stick and ball sports... there is no need for a playoff system to manufacture drama. **** that ****, man.

To win a championship in motorsport you need to be strong over the course of the entire season. NASCAR's "Chase" and F1's failed attempt at double points last year are all ********. **** it pisses me off so bad.

As they should. Nico is a baby and can't handle any pressure. Every now and again they humor him if he manages to have a better qually than Lewis, or manages to beat him into turn one.

But deep down they hate that. They know that when Nico is up front they have to work hard to manage tight gaps and have to worry about potential contact between teammates as Lewis will inevitably be right up Nico's *** because he's just so much ******* better than Richie Rich.

There is no bigger farce than what I am seeing with F1. The championship has already been decided for awhile now. Awesome cars and tracks but I want to see more than 4 seconds of actual racing each event. Especially considering the amount of cash I am spending to watch it live here in a couple weeks.

It is strange that a motorsport that has the moniker containing the word "formula" has in fact the greatest disparity in the competitiveness of the teams.

I understand that "it has always been this way", but saying that it has always been uncompetitive isn't an excuse. Oh well, as long as people are making money and no one seems to care, who gives a rat's butt what I think.

Off subject, I do agree that they have gone a little too far with the Chase and need to pull it back some. But it was exciting in 2011 where the Championship was decided by a tiebreaker.

But the one time that pressure has been put on LH this year he cracked (Hungary) big time and couldn't have been a more whiney little child about it. Both of them can suck it.

Please explain to me how this current F1 season is a farce? Mercedes was well ahead of the game due to a massive rules change and they are reaping the benefits of their technical superiority. They have the fastest car, and more often than not the fastest car wins. That's racing, pure and simple. Sometimes it is flat out boring. We can only hope that the other teams catch up next year, and that the 2017 rules make things truly exciting.

It may not be exciting, but it certainly isn't a farce. At least what we are seeing with F1 is honest, unlike the manufactured drama in NASCAR. We've got fake debris cautions left and right to artificially bunch up the field, and then of course we have a completely ludicrous championship system. It just isn't genuine anymore.

Yet he rallied to finish in 6th and Nico could not capitalize, and ended up losing points.

There is a reason Lewis has 302 points to Nico's 229 this year. Lewis is an elite driver, just like Seb and Fernando. Nico is quick, but he isn't on Lewis' level.

I hate the Chase. I hate all of the Chase formats. But the current Chase makes the old Chase look legitimate.

I wish we could just do away with the Chase altogether and go back to a season-long championship with no gimmicks. It's been proposed before, but a Formula 1 style point system in NASCAR would be great. Award points only to the top 25, and award first exponentially more points than second for that extra incentive to win.

Mercedes spends the most money on the best engineers and management, so before one lap of "racing" the championship is already determined. The driver or the crew on race day has absolutely no determination in regard to the outcome of the championship. That is F1 and that is a farce.

The following has been my routine for watching F1 this year. I have stopped recording the practices and qualification broadcasts because invariably it is the same story; Mercedes dominates. For the race recording, I fast-forward through the pre-race commentary since it is absolutely meaningless. Just before the start I get a little excited, but LH pulls away and the race is over. Fast-forward through the remaining laps to see if LH has a mechanical problem. When he wins delete the recording. Shake my head in disappointment.

The one bright spot was Hungary where the skilled drivers could be competitive because Mercedes straight-line speed advantage was negated and LH crumbled under the pressure.

m4a1mustang 10-14-2015 08:08 AM

Honestly it sounds like Formula 1 isn't for you. This isn't a spec racing series, so absolute runaway domination like we are seeing right now is entirely possible if a team does a good enough job.

I definitely prefer tighter competition for the sake of the racing, but I'm well aware of the nature of the beast. When you have a relatively open formula this is going to happen. It happened with McLaren, Williams, Ferrari, Redbull, and other teams throughout history. Now it's Mercedes. Remember, F1 is about the teams/engineering first, and the actual on track racing product second.

When I want good competitive racing I turn to NASCAR... however Brian France has been making it incredibly hard for me to follow along lately. I say that as a diehard fan since 1994.

I definitely like the cars and the tracks, and for the 5 or 6 seconds it is pretty exciting. There is always hope that a few more teams will close the gap next year. I know that Mercedes has the advantage in straight-line speed, but I keep digging, but an unable to find exactly what the technical distinction is. I guess if I were to find out, then the competition would as well, which is why it is a secret.

NASCAR races are fun and cheap, and I usually attend at least one every year, and this year I will attend the USGP. Hopefully the spectacle will be as fun as I imagine and that will be motivatation to attend another race every couple of years. On my list would be Singapore, Belgium, Canada, Brazil and of course Monaco!.

USGP Austin 2015

Attended the USGP in Austin this weekend and despite qualifying being rained out and being waterlogged on Sunday morning, my nephew and I had a great time. We had Turn 1 seats, which as you could guess had some good action:

http://www.the370z.com/members/black...tin-turn-1.jpg

As I imagined, the cars were very cool, and they are a lot smaller in person than I thought they would be. They are not very loud at all. In fact I would say the Porsche Supercup cars were about 3 times louder. But the F1 cars did sound mean. They started with the intermediate rain tires, which created some good action with the Red Bull cars, but when they switched to slicks, it was all over and as you know the bad guys won

I will for sure be attending more F1 races in the future.

honestly.... hamilton was leading by a hair when approaching to turn 1, but they are actually side by side when going into turn-1...

he has the inside line but he wasn't leading... and he just pushed rosberg to the curb...

driving ethics wise, even if he is at front, he should still leave some room/space for his opponent.

dirty winner.... dirty winner....

Crazy practice so far. Green track, lots of offs and mistakes and obvious graining on the fronts! Seems to have a great atmosphere and people! Low density air has affected the downforce levels as well. Cars are a bit more lively.
