Angry Near-miss Rear Ender

...just barely escaped a horrific rear ender with my Z. I feel SO lucky, but so Pee'd off at the same time. Either a young punk or a very young female driver in a BRAND NEW ACURA SUV with the Temp Plates still on... I look up checking my rear view as I am slowing down to make a right turn from the main street (Collins) onto my street, and I see this White Acura SUV accelerating like crazy towards me - about 50 yards away and closing the gap fast... I am in second gear about 10mph now, blinker on, brake lights + F1 Flashing Brake Light and this Dodo is not even checking up off the accelerator. I punch it and zip over to middle lane - at that speed and gear it feels like forever before the car responds and gets in the middle lane. The Acura's grill is filling my rear view fast and I can just almost sense the crash about to happen, the Z finally darts over to the middle lane, the SUV's nose gets squirly as he finally realizes that his/she is about to hit me hard - but passes my rear right quarter panel about a C** hair off... I sit in the middle lane screaming at him/her as the SUV passes me the driver is looking at me like the idiot he/she is... I cannot believe my luck - I don't know how I am still in one piece... That's it! The Z is in for the day... gotta settle my nerves...

Dude - all I could think of afterwards is how Effed up my weekend could have been after that... I was literally a millisecond away from my life taking a totally different track... After I pulled her into the garage, I kept going back and looking at the rear bumper... I just could not believe my luck - held up good for once...

Thanks for the concern Dave - Hope you can join us this weekend for our cruise and BBQ in Mississippi? The weather is supposed to be ideal...

I got hit by a drunk driver many years ago in a similar situation. It was 3 years before I was 100% again. My looked like it went through a crusher. Not fun. I'm just glad you made it out ok.

Anywho... gonna try to make it this weekend. My GF is headed over there for the weekend anyway so it would be awesome if I could make it. It depends on work. If they don't make me work again this weekend, I'll take the ride for sure.

Francis - not sure my text was clear - None of the other guys that have the FI systems have the box or the wrappings. The one guy who does have it is storing his stock exhaust in the box. So, could not find you an FI box for you to use.

Yes sir, then i'll have to start looking for either a used gen 2 or order a new setup. I would like to hear a 12" and 18" res before i buy next time. I would like my non-res to be louder but if one of the res ones is deeper i might go with that.

I don't think the resonated is any deeper. From what I can tell it's slightly muted compared to the non-res. You should just go with some HFCs at the same time if you want the deeper/louder sound.

I picked up some Berks but I haven't installed them yet. Probably gonna do that in the next week or two though. Sounds perfect IMO.

I had some berks on when i had my stillen catback, and a 2nd set that came with my current FI setup. I think i'll leave the cats stock until i can afford a TT kit then go with test pipes i guess.
